Who said I never intended? Who said a boycott would be effective with one person taking action who never attended in the first place? You are explaining basic arithmetic to me and patting yourself on the back for it.
The important part is that you get to feel self-righteous.
A typical change in topic.
And here I was starting to miss he-man.org's The Tar Swamp...
A typical change in topic.
To the contrary, it is entirely on-topic. You proposed a completely symbolic gesture that will make no material difference whatsoever other than to make you feel good. If your goal is to actual affect change, your strategy is ineffective. But if it is to make you feel self-righteous, then mission accomplished.

You are so mediocre.
I said one sentence. We should boycott Power-Con. If it picks up steam and grows from there and people want to assemble and do it then the idea becomes effective. If the idea thrown out there dies on the vine then it's over. Yet for some reason you keep coming on about it.
Now let me define to a pseudo intellectual like yourself the meaning of self-righteous.
Self-righteousness (also called sanctimoniousness, sententiousness, goody-goody attitudes, and holier-than-thou attitudes) is an attitude and belief of moral superiority derived from a person deeming their own beliefs, actions, or affiliations to be of greater virtue than those of others. Self-righteous individuals are often intolerant of the opinions and behaviors of others that they deem to be less virtuous.
Now who does this describe in this situation. You? Or me?
Like I said. Mediocre.
Right on!
"If you feel safe in the area you’re working in, you’re not working in the right area. Always go a little further into the water than you feel you’re capable of being in. Go a little bit out of your depth. And when you don’t feel that your feet are quite touching the bottom, you’re just about in the right place to do something exciting."

TLDR. That is a lot of words to say that you got called out, and are trying to double-down to save face.
Maybe we stop calling each other self righteous and mediocre and call each other nice things like best buddy and mister awesome? 😁
Maybe someone who proposes boycotting a business he never supported, because he feels the owner did not give people adequate time to archive the free message board he hosted at his own expense for 25 years, should be less sensitive and histrionic. That is a completely disproportionate response to that particular perceived slight, as well as to every criticism of that response.
Many Native American tribes have a prohibition against speaking ill of those who have passed away.
For better or for worse -- and to my great sadness -- he-man.org has passed away, along, figuratively, with all who labored so hard for it over so many years. To use an analogy from American football, no quarterback, no matter how skilled, throws a perfect pass every time. All, however, try to the best of their abilities. I would suggest that Val tried to be best of his and, over the years, successfully championed the MOTU franchise, to the benefit of all who loved it.
I respectfully suggest that we dispense with this discussion and allow he-man.org to rest in peace and move on.
@theman This is acceptance, the last phase of the five stages of grief. Perhaps our group therapy has finally reached its conclusion. 🍻
If you set your goals ridiculously high and it's a failure, you will fail above everyone else's success. -James Cameron
It couldn't have been easy for Val to close down He-Man.Org, it was a labour of love for so many years and I don't think he made the decision lightly and without reverence for the property or the fans. Val has always been kind to me, so I don't feel bitter as some people seem to be.
I don't agree with boycotting Power Con either. I've never been but only because I'm a whole ocean away and obviously have never been able to get there. If Power Con is still around in years to come, and I can't imagine why it wouldn't be, perhaps someday I will get there.

Well said.
(Pssst. Was it always like this over at the org?)

He-man.org was an awful experience for me when Masters of the Universe Revelation came out. It was the exact opposite I expected a fan community to be. People were so mean to each other there so I decided to stay away.
@brasco ROFL Why you being mean to Reddit users bro?
