I don't subscribe to any of his social channels. Does anyone know if Scott has taken his bow yet now that we know Mattel loses some rights to Masters of the Universe in a few years?

We don't know that. It's only a rumor.
I guess but that Variety article said it had 2 sources confirm it.

Do you mean this?

Like any good superhero tale, this deal has an antagonist that threatens its very existence. The rights to “Masters” are entangled in a dizzying web, one that stretches back more than a decade to when DreamWorks Animation purchased them as part of a larger content library. The deal said Mattel could exploit “Masters” characters for filmed adaptations through 2026, two sources say. As DWA is now owned by NBCUniversal, this means the conglomerate could interfere with any potential sequels that Amazon MGM would want to develop — an essential option a producer needs when investing hundreds of millions of dollars in a big movie.
This is about rights to make a film, not rights to make toys. Unless you were referring to something else?

I see you feel it stops short of the toys. My head says yes that makes sense but this surprised the heck outta me. This is He-Man now they are losing more rights with too not just She-Ra. And yea this article is only talking filmed adaptations but that is only what the article is about the movie deal. So is Scott crazy? Or did something crazy happen long ago with short sighted Execs that is gonna make us fall off our chairs one day. A week ago I wouldn't believe it possible but now? I dunno.

It does appear to only talk about movie rights. I assume (and it says as much in the article) that movie rights were always a temporary deal they made with media rights holders for the brand. Years and years ago Mattel sold off all non-toy rights for Masters of the Universe to another company, and those media rights have changed hands many times.
I have Rudy Obrero packaging art prints that were produced by Super 7 back in 2017. On those prints it says Masters of the Universe is owned by Mattel. I have to think Scott was just confusing toy rights with media rights this whole time.
Ownership can still change. One year it says this company on the back of a box and the next another. Just look at the Hellraiser rights going back to Clive Barker or Hong Kong lol
But I hear you bro. I am still thinking this probably involves Mattel's television rights too but we'll see what happens in a couple years. I still can't believe Mattel did a deal like that with Filmation. It never would happen by a toy company today.

Take a bow for what? He stated that Mattel would lose all exclusive rights to the Masters of the Universe intellectual property in 2023, and that another toy company, such as Hasbro, would be able to produce Masters of the Universe toys going forward. Not only did that not happen, as evident by the Masterverse and Origins release schedule for 2024 and beyond, but it is not going to happen.
Moreover, I pointed out that the license to produce a film was set to expire, and if not renewed, would revert to NBCUniversal, and need to be renegotiated, which aligns with the recent reporting. Neitlich was and is still completely wrong about this issue, and I wish people would not try to retroactively vindicate him, because his 30 pages of documented embarassment went down with He-Man.org.

Your point is valid but that Hong Kong comparison is absolutely bonkers! Cheers

Where did you learn this mate? You act like this is common knowledge so is there an interview somewhere we can flip through?

Scott was saying that Mattel didn't actually own the toy rights to MOTU during his tenure, they were only the licensee. The copyright info on the 2017 prints I have says otherwise.

I posted the entire rights history on He-Man.org in a thread dedicated to this very subject. It is a settled issue. But now that the discussion thread went down with He-Man.org, it is being resurrected all over again.

Sorry that happened. Where exactly did you get that info from?

Oh I understand you now. Did anybody point that out to him bro? That seems kinda cut and dry.

Again, a member of the He-Man.org forums started a thread about this subject in 2017 in response to a YouTube video published by Neitlich. He was a participant in the thread, and multiple people corrected his misinformation. It was a settled issue, and the thread remained largely inactive until I resurrected it in 2023 to remind everyone that his predicition was wrong. People have been dunking on him for nearly a year, and the moment He-Man.org goes down, everyone suddenly gets selective amnesia. If this seems harsh, it is because many of us are frustrated that we are having to relitigate this issue.

I don't think it is mate. I'd be chuffed if it was. It's why I'm asking.
