Saw Killers of the Flower Moon over the weekend. I won't say I was disappointed because it was, after all, Scorsese, DeNiro, DiCaprio, and a lot of other really talented people telling a very important story. I was just a little underwhelmed. It felt disjointed at times.  I know there was a TON to cover. I read the book, and Grann did a great job creating a smooth narrative from all his research.  The movie didn't do as great a job at that.

My wife and I streamed Lift on Netflix last night. Safe, slick heist action film.  Nothing glaringly horrible about it but I'd imagine I'll forget about it in a month or so.

Is Flower Moon free on Apple yet bro? Last time I went to play it there was a 20 buck price attached to it. I was like Heck No! I already pay for Apple TV I'm not going to pay more for that!

And btw -- yes, I know this is a movie thread (how did I get here?!!!  "I'm lost in the forest..."). -- with the exception of the intro theme song for the original Dallas series (GOAT theme songs), the soundtrack for Suits is the best soundtrack for any television series ever...  😉

Some kind moderator please move my last two posts to the TV series binge watching thread.  This is what happens when you let a high maintenance 74 year old writer-producer-director onto your board.  🙂

Finally got around to watching Barbie! Really fantastic film! It struck a lot of emotional chords with me while remaining funny and entertaining throughout. I thought it was stellar!

Last night I watched Host from 2020. It was a Covid movie and filmed entirely over Zoom. The film is about 6 friends who hire a medium for something fun to do during lockdown and of course there are lots of nasty surprises waiting for them. It has a tiny budget and a 57min runtime but they pack a fantastic amount of thrills and scares in. My sister screamed at the TV about 7 times and jumped 4 in the limited runtime.

The Flash and Aquaman...  Superheroes whose biggest power is they run fast or swim fast.  Meh.

Elvis. I think Austin Butler did a great job but the movie was strange and wasn’t what I was expecting. I love Tom Hanks but his accent ruined his character for me

Watched Past Lives yesterday. TWICE. All that hype about it being one of the best movies of the year? Lives up to that and then some. Just a beautiful, emotional, powerful story. Acting, directing, editing, cinematography, score--all excellent. I'll be thinking about it for a very long time.

The Hill. Awesome movie. Keep them tissues nearby because it's a tearjerker.

No country for old men. Anton might give John Wick a run for his money

Anton relies heavily on victims who are least expecting. As soon as one fights back he is in the bathtub with iodine. And his peripheral vision is horrible.

Just about to double feature Madame Web and Lisa Frankenstein. Wish me luck

edited to say - please do not waste money on Madame Web. This movie is a complete disaster. And no it’s nothing to do with the reasons the neckbeards are calling out. Its simply badly written, badly edited with a big dash of bad acting. It was just throughly disappointing.

Yeah........ didn't see this coming.

Inside Sony’s ‘Madame Web’ Collapse: Forget About a New Franchise

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/inside-sony-madame-collapse-forget-160227857.html

To be clear, I haven't seen this movie - nor do I even want to. And that is the problem... NOBODY wanted this movie.

Venom, Morbius, Kraven, Madam Web... ugh. Seriously?!?

Maybe Sony can develop an entire miniseries about Vermin... and that can NOT feature Spider-Man too!

Maybe that’s why Sony is trying to rush Marvel with Spider-Man 4 lmao
