We discussed a bit of this in another thread, but I figured it could use its own topic.
Sure, commercial breaks were traditionally used to go to the restroom and / or grab another drink. But, you got to admit, there were some pretty entertaining ones out there.
For example, Skeletor as the spokesperson for Honda:
Or when they did that commercial for Geico:
Or even the epic live-action Super Moneymart ones:
As for non-MotU commercials, I loved the video game commercials of the 80s / 90s / early 2000s. Those things were practically their own genre. Not so much these days.
For example, this guy being too enthusiastic for Atari Star Wars:
Or who could forget "Sega does what Nintendon't"?:
And then there was Playstation's campaign featuring the guy in the Crash Bandicoot suit, Sweet Tooth and CGI Lara Croft:
What about you guys? What were some of your favorite commericals (MotU or non-MotU)?

the infamous dancing skeletor commercial is the stuff of LEGENDS ! i love the costume and mask, wouldn't be half bad for a live-action motu movie x)
i actually really like the geico and honda commercials too ! back in the day, he man toy commercials were a staple of afternoon school kids tv blocks, now we see he-man and co. popping up in commercials for grown up things, like cars and insurance.
here's a link to a short compilation of motu and pop adverts from uk/irish television back in the 80's, there are some remakes of american motu commercials with a few original ads for the british market some of y'all may not have seen before ! <3 <3
@adam_prince-of-eternia i owe my username to 80's she-ra commercials 😊 my yt name was originally "adora . lovely as a flower" (a line taken from the commercial) before i shortened it to "adora . lovely"
@brasco i thought the actor in the gray blazer and button shirt was paul giamatti at first lol
(but WOW, if that isn't a great commercial ! 😆 )
@he-dad years after bud light finished with this campaign, that infamous 'whaaaaatsup?' line lived on as a popular hello alternative throughout my middle and high school. we can never underestimate the staying power that a good commercial has🤣 some commercials are as quotable as any movie or tv show.
@adoralovely lol that’s one commercial that always stuck in my head. Also I’ve seen that actor somewhere, just can’t put my finger on the show. I wanna say law and order

But she has the strength of a tower! She-Ra, Princess of Power! The fate of the world's in the hands of this beautiful girl, Princess of Power!
I'm not sure if this ad made it outside Ireland, but i always liked it.
"If you feel safe in the area you’re working in, you’re not working in the right area. Always go a little further into the water than you feel you’re capable of being in. Go a little bit out of your depth. And when you don’t feel that your feet are quite touching the bottom, you’re just about in the right place to do something exciting."

@daavid i may be a little too young to remember this one (being born in 1999 and all 😅) but it's a gem for sure !
