I know, it is weird, but MOTU is a still much beloved brand, I wonder why nobody has decided to develop a game based on that. It would be extremely cool.

I always thought Eternia would be well suited for an open world MMO game like World of Warcraft.

Yes, so many areas, foes and allies. If well done, I’d like that more than a movie

I would love this but it will never happen. 😥

I had in mind a game more single player focused, open world, a sandbox, in which the player can live the adventures by different character's points of view. For example, using Stratoss, beginning the adventures from his place of origin, then developing the gameplay in a way that uses his/her abilities to explore, to face the ememies, to do missions!

Well there are a few problems, which versions of the characters will it use? Will they make their own versions? Who do ya play as? Will you create a character yourself if so you really gotta cater to a large fan base, the character creator most be good enough to make anything from 80s to 2020s show inspired characters. 😅

Masterverse wishlist:
Catra 2018 (season 4)
He-Man 2002 (Snake Armor)
King Hissssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss 2002
She-Ra 2018 (season 5)
Skeletor 2002

I'm doing my video essay on She-Ra now, and in said essay my research made me discover that there was a game on consoles made for the 2002 reboot. Also, there was an Intellivision game that some of you may know of because AVGN mentioned it briefly in his review of the console. I'm actually planning to use what he said about the game as a joke in my essay about Revelation. He says "Aaaw man I thought it was gonna be He-Man!" (not gonna be bashing the show though, I loved it).

Though I would say my dream come true would be a video game based on events happening after Prime's defeat. IE if the She-Ra movie ever happens and brings back interest in the public sphere once more, we could get a game, but NOT a game based on the hypothetical movie. A game dealing with different events. I'd love that. As long as ND and crew get to work on the story and direct the characters go. In terms of design? Hell if I know. Jak and Daxter-like platformer? Sidescroller? Point and click adventure?

@catra I don't know which versions of the characters are better.  I think that both the Filmation and the Masterverse versions could be cool.

I think that anyway it would be better to choose one of the already existing characters, with a few customization options but without overhauling the characters from scratch. I would like to try Stratoss, as it was my first MOTU figure back in the '80s. And from there I would freely explore the open world map of Eternia. With a main quest and a lot of side ones, and the possibilty to choose an npc character as ally/ follower if I meet him/her during my exploration.

@alteredquantum I still say that depends on what type of game, if this is a MMO RPG? Well in that case you need to create a character, meet NPCs from the MOTU/POP franchise? Well actually you could potentially go one further and make other characters from the other universes show up, could say another Masterverse. 🥁

* CGI He-Man

* SunMan

* SPOP

* New Eternia

Masterverse wishlist:
Catra 2018 (season 4)
He-Man 2002 (Snake Armor)
King Hissssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss 2002
She-Ra 2018 (season 5)
Skeletor 2002

@catra I'm not really into mmorpg, so as I said in a previous post I woukd be in for a single player game. I've played some mmorpgs before: WoW, Aion, Tera online. Cool games, bur flawed by unavoidable toxic elitist players on one hand, full of macrotransactions and/or pay to win mechanics (even if the last ones plague mainly games as a service, always on line). So I would avoid any kind of on line and multiplayer type of game for a MOTU one, for sure. 👍

  1. @thenerdwithasuit unfortunately I don't know any Prime (except Optimus Prime), probably because I'm not into the She-ra series. I have preferences towards a more classical timeline, featuring all the legaxy characters of the MOTU line. An exploration based game, Skyrim style would be awesome.

@alteredquantum Yeah I have heard of this, some fans does not like She-Ra at all. Also there are the fans who only likes the 3 80s shows, others that only likes the 2000 show. Then we have those who only likes Netflix She-Ra, those who only likes She-Ra. Those who only likes He-Man? Yeah this community is sorta fragmented at times, say besides 80s He-Man which shows you prefer? 2000? Revelation & Revolution? CGI show from the sounds of things is not your thing?

Masterverse wishlist:
Catra 2018 (season 4)
He-Man 2002 (Snake Armor)
King Hissssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss 2002
She-Ra 2018 (season 5)
Skeletor 2002

@catra well, I mostly prefer the '80s tv series, even if Revelation has its points of evident quality. I felt cheated when He-man and Skeletor were sideline right i  the first episode, but the graphics and animations are quite good. I am currently watching the series of the early 2k, and it is really nice, the only part I really don't like is He-man's sword, too much sci-fi styled.

I had this thought about a MotU musou-type game (warriors type game. Think Dynasty Warriors or One Piece: Pirate Warriors). Look at what they did with Hyrule Warriors. They got so many different characters from different eras of Legend of Zelda. They could do the same thing involving characters from not just the 80s MotU, but characters all of the subsequent series up to now. And not just heroes, but also playable villains.

@alteredquantum Well I liked all of the 80s shows, Filmation He-Man, Filmation She-Ra & New Adventures. However if I had to pick a top 3 it would probably DreamWorks She-Ra, Filmation She-Ra & New Adventures. Now if increasing it to top 5 it would be either 2000 show or MOTU:Re now if MOTU:Re does not get cancelled over time I may rate it over the 2000 show so the order would be...

* DreamWorks She-Ra & the Princesses of Power

* Filmation She-Ra Princess of Power

* New Adventures of He-Man

* Masters of the Universe Re (if not cancelled after season 2 and eventually get more episodes)

* He-Man & the Masters of the Universe (this one is special to me it was the first one I saw)

Masterverse wishlist:
Catra 2018 (season 4)
He-Man 2002 (Snake Armor)
King Hissssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss 2002
She-Ra 2018 (season 5)
Skeletor 2002

@alteredquantum Prime is short for Horde Prime. Filmation She-Ra took place after Filmation He-Man, and in it, it was revealed Horde Prime was like the Emperor type figure who lead the Horde with total control, and that Hordak and Skeletor were his lackees. It's just that Skeletor wanted to become his own thing more or less.

In the Dreamworks reboot he retains his tyrannical position and power, but he's based on modern-day fundamentalist cults.

@thenerdwithasuit yep the past war in mentioned in revelation clearly had the opposite outcome in DreamWorks She-Ra, stop to think about it and you realize it might be the darkest timeline of them all... 😅

Been toying around with that RPG-Maker game. Probably wouldn't be the same. Even bought like a butt load of new artwork so it's not using the artwork that comes with the game. My son plays this game, I think it's called Battle Cats that I keep teasing him saying how easy it would be to make that game. I could EASILY change my characters to look like masters of the universe characters, but your probably asking for a MMO and not some RPG single player game.
