I thought Harrison Ford was retiring, I guess not. Well from the trailer this looks just ok…. I have my fingers crossed this movie helps pull marvel from the gutter. I have not really cared for the last 3 or 4 releases
Since when has there been a red hulk?
@longtooth I believe he was introduced in 2008. He is General Ross, not Banner. Got his powers from Modok iirc
@brasco That is surprising. One would figure after hating the Hulk for so long, a Hulk would be the last thing General Ross would want to be.

I have high hopes for this movie. The mcu needs something good like the Winter Soldier again. Did you see Deapool and Wolverine yet? It was so good!

@asterstar yes it was awesome! I’m not going to spoil it for those who haven’t seen it but the cameos were absolutely insane. I wonder if we’re going to see future movies with a few of them
@brasco The best cameo was
Â
@mighty-thanos this. Same reaction when I saw it opening night.
And the amount of people who were confused by one particular cameo because they had no idea those films were based on a Marvel character. Even had to explain it to my partner and sister who didn’t know.

Can you picture younger generations watching it decades from now? Half the jokes will make zero sense to them.

There were a number of Hulks in the late 2000 and early to mid 2010s, they went a little overboard with the idea. There was even a cartoon about it called "Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H", I'm sure some here will remember that.
Even Bruce's ex-wife Betty came back to life and became Red She-Hulk, nowadays she's a winged demon called The Harpy, she was better off dead

I see. That was after I stopped reading comics. Now Betty Ross as a Harpy I remember. That goes way back perhaps to the bronze age.Â
Â
Yeah, I did some research (not the biggest comic Hulk expert outside of Peter David's work), and Betty was the Harpie earlier. She's gone back to that now. Again, all very depressing stuff, not my cup of tea at all. My favourite Hulk run was with Peter David.
@zarius If you like horror try the Immortal Hulk series one day. They made Hulk scary it was so good!
@asterstar I really enjoyed that Immortal Hulk run, so much so I picked up the Diamond Toys Marvel Gallery pvc statue. It was a great mix of Hulk and body horror and the Alex Ross covers were just outstanding!
We have the Power!

I've already read Immortal Hulk. It was OK at best, but I didn't like how Ewing handled Bruce and Betty. Strangely, I tweeted a response to it back in 2022 towards a Marvel podcast and one of the co-hosts agreed with me, rofl.

I think it won awards so I am surprised you didn't like it. What did you tweet that they agreed with?
Â
@asterstar There's plenty of crap out there that 'wins awards' that I don't particularly care for.
As for the tweet, it was for a podcast focusing on relationships, I said I wanted Bruce and Betty together and one of the hosts said he too thought that they should be at the very least on OK terms instead of continually being strained.
Marvel really have ruined a lot of their A-class romances over the years, except for maybe Reed and Sue, though they recently got done fixing Gambit and Rogue and Scott and Jean...but it took them decades to do so. Marvel are pretty stubborn and don't 'blink' unless it affects sales or if an editor thinks a classic pairing is worth revisiting.
@zarius Bruce and Betty were always in a strained relationship. Even Peter David couldn't resist killing her after they got married. 😂
