And another video intended to cloud and muddy the waters.

A comment that was pure gold.

This is some great revisionist history. I invite you again to do a reaction video to your original video or please just take down the original video so it can be memory holed making what you say in this video true by default. You said the line is over. Not over at retail. You are so close, just eat that crow and make a real video addressing what you said and not videos about what you remember saying. If you need help go 4 minutes and 4 seconds into that video and listen to your own words. "Come April that's it and there won't be any new figures announced". Then go to 4 minutes and 26 seconds "The final wave would be shipping in April and lines were being discontinued". Those aren't two sentences that can be easily misinterpreted when in the next sentence you speculate that the lines could migrate to online. You've never made a video addressing that you were wrong about the lines themselves ending. You never corrected yourself to say they are just done at retail. Instead you made multiple videos supporting your stance on them being over completely.

How many times should the Origins be done by now according to him? It feels like he announces the death of the line at least 4x per year and 2x extra on holidays. 🤨

@lasastard 🤣 haha this is actually dead on..... *ahem*

but unlike eric idle and john cleese, scott has really nothing to gain from origins demise. so, frankly, what else could it be but bitterness.

he seemingly has distain to spare for masterverse too. ever see his video in which he unfairly thrashes on masterverse he-ro simply because it doesn't live up to the standards he set with his he-ro classics figure.

while i'm sure all agree that classics is a wonderful line with beautiful figures, it's disrespectful that scott acts like classics is the "be-all-and-end-all" of motu and that classics is everyone's favourite line, when a good portion of us don't even own many or any classics figures. mattel have given us something wonderful in masterverse, a retail line of characters spanning the franchises legacy, this is proven to be worthy successor to classics.

prehaps scott feels like his classics baby is being replaced?
i'm sorry but masters of the universe is BIGGER than just ONE line, does he think motu peaked when he was in charge? he acts like origins and masterverse don't even deserve to exist.

also, as a side, scott's concept of merging all motu lore into one canon for the classics universe was, though certainly ambitious in theory, proved convoluted in execution.
those classics minicomics are my LEAST favourite media associated with motu, i don't care for them at all. never have and his pitch for a motu movie was a painful sit through. thank krom it never made it to screen.

Classics may be the pinnacle but masterverse is starting to give it a run for the money. He-ro is a great figure and yes he does sound very bitter. Well there’s that and he’s probably upset that he can’t get his likeness on any masterverse figures lol. It’s almost like he still wants everyone to pat him on the back. People need to stop giving him clicks

Pretty spot on. He is apparently bitter that they proved him wrong with his subscription market concept after letting him leave.

He has done some great stuff for MOTU in the past and is/was obviously a big fan. And with his insight and fandom I'm sure he could make some awesome fan content; if it where not for his ego. I mean there are tons of things Mattel could be roasted for in their fumbling around with the franchise and maybe he even talks about that too; but if its always bitter doom about every subjective thing no one really cares.

This. Masterverse was kind of shit when it launched and Scott reveled in it. Classics still ruled supreme. Masterverse started getting better. That Fisto with a die-cast fist was nice. So was the Revelation Tri-Klops. It wasn't until Two-Bad came out where Masterverse started rivaling some of the Classics figures. Buzz-Off too and some others. Hell Masterverse NA Skeletor makes the Classics look like shit. I think Scott felt threatened by this and the love for Origins and saw what he wanted to see when he didn't have all the facts to support it.

I used to watch his videos and that was fine.  I kind of stopped watching over time and then I ran across some of the Retro Blasting videos about him and I just never went back to his channel.

@griff That "debate" that he engaged in with Retro Blasting made the RB dude look pretty bad though. RB was really emotional about it all and wouldn't even let Neitlich finish a sentence. It went into full cringe when RB was shaking his scrawled "notes" at the camera. I think Neitlich came away from that the "winner".

I used to watch Scott's stuff from time to time as he provided actual insight into the industry. But I don't understand the things about "MOTU Leaving retail by Xdate". He says he was reading an ACTUAL "Official Mattel memo". Yet he never showed it. And he never really addressed the "Official Mattel memo" again did he? If he did I missed it. Just a weird thing all around.

I love what they are doing with the New Eternia subset within Masterverse. This newest wave with MAA and Trap Jaw slays. I really hope the days of terrible portraits are behind us. That was the only major and consistently bad part about MV. Still...can we please get a Teela with and actually pretty portrait?

I liked the RetroBlasting channel when its content focused on presenting factual information, like the presentations prepared for Dragon Con, and not the divisive opinions of Michael French, like which products are worthwhile or a good value.

However, I have never cared for the choices or opinions of Scott Neitlich whatsoever. And even I had to admit that he came out the victor in that situation. Although, being the victor of a debate between two deeply unlikeable people is not much of a victory.

That debate was painful. Remember Scott's audio problems? I left thinking the real losers of the debate were the viewers.

All the man does is slide shows so it must have been the images he used.
