The two characters have been "shipped" since the beginning of MOTU, before there was even a Prince Adam. The original description of Teela's character seemed to indicate that she could become either the "happy bride of He-Man" or the unwilling prize of Skeletor. In Filmation and 200x, this sort of became the "love triangle built for two" not unlike Lois Lane and Superman/Clark Kent, while the idea of Skeletor wanting to marry her is no longer part of the equation. This becomes more like Superman and Lois' current relationship in the comics in Revelation when she finds out who He-Man really is.Â
I like that there hasn't been too much focus on them as a romantic couple honestly because I like Teela being caught up in her work defending the royal palace and being alternately friendly and annoyed with Adam. She was written as so competent in Filmation that I didn't miss out on her being infatuated with He-Man. They're not mutually exclusive, of course, but a Teela who moons over He-Man and kisses him a lot? Yeah, that doesn't feel right somehow.
Dude what is worse is those artists that don't understand the lore and draw He-Man and She-Ra like a romantic couple. 🤢Â

You can say that again!

I think we see the He-Man and Teela dynamic a little better than the Adam and Teela one.  You can see it some in "The Problem with Power." If Filmation She-Ra didn't already have such a large amount of female characters and basically just two professionals to play them not counting Erika, we might have seen it explored a little more on that show. Teela and Evil-Lyn were rarely used on that show despite having Linda Gary. He-Man, Skeletor, and others had way more appearances. I'm glad we got it explored more in recent times with the comics, Classics, and Revelation. It is too bad we never got the Lou Scheimer sequel pitch show that had them married. It would be interesting to see that dynamic for an entire show.

Is the show you are referring to the one where the son of Adam and Teela is He-Ro?

If you set your goals ridiculously high and it's a failure, you will fail above everyone else's success. -James Cameron
@mike that would cause some mad internet rage. Have u seen those Adam loves Teela fanatics? If you say somethin like Adam loves Frosta or Adam and Teela should be brother and sister they freak out and start yelling like they are real people and no one else can have an opinion. Its crazy
As Adam he's putting on a bit of an act. He's not really that big a doofus, and he's not as serious as he tries to be as He-Man. In the clip posted earlier Teela said she wanted Adam's wit with He-Man's courage. So it seems at least part of her likes Adam's goofiness.Â

If he didn't have to put on as act all the time he would be the strong, brave, attractive man that Teela's know her whole life who can make her laugh. Thats an easy combination to get that combat monokin to the floor real quick.
Have no gotten very far on th comics. Still in the 1980's and reading on. But I could have sworn I heard that Teela would be interested in He-Man if he had Adams brain, or Adams brain inside He-Man. That one always confused be because I think Adam just got all a boost of higher strength but still had that same brain... I'm confusing myself!

Kind of like a splint personality like when Cringer gets hit my the power sword he suddenly becomes "Battle Cat" and isn't hiding under tabes. SOOOOooo... Which is it?
