@lasastard What a sweet irony that would be if you think about it... The toy company that retired your license agreement years ago (Motu) comes knocking on your door again, asking for permission to use your (supposed) Silverhawks IP.

I want to like this line, but know they will package them with all that nonsense that they are wearing. Its like Karl Havoc.

This brings up a good point... Mattel will most likely pack these with all of their 'Eternian' armor and keep the additional pieces needed to change them into vanilla TCats behind the bubble.

This could be a problem for MOC collectors...

(Unless Mattel ships two styles of each figure... doubtful, but maybe..?)

@ornclown That is a cool idea, but there's rights issues. One company need to own all those properties or the companies that do own them need to work out an agreement.

I believe Silverhawks is owned by Super7 now; so such a crossover seems a little unlikely, unless Brian Flynn is keen to sell off the IP again. Come to think of it, I could see that happening, since their Silverhawks Ultimates line didn't seem overly successful; and it should be more-or-less "completed" now.

This was a popular rumor floating around for a while, but when the Dynamite series launched, they had to go to Warner Bros for the rights to make the comic.

In 2023, Brian Flynn did a livestream interview with the Fwoosh and explained that they (Super 7) thought they were given the sole rights to produce figures / collectibles for the SilverHawks brand. Unfortunately, Warner Bros thought differently. However, they both came to an agreement and Super 7 is acting as a licensee that is producing action figures using the SH brand.

Warner Bros still owns the Silverhawks IP.

This is true. And even though these properties have wallowed in obscurity for years, the license-holders most likely will not let them be used for cheap.

Nevertheless, if TMNT and ThunderCats became a reality - I feel there is nothing that is truly off the table.

The aforementioned Tigersharks and Silverhawks would be cool... but I can definitely see a MOTU x Street Sharks crossover coming soon. (Mattel holds both of these licenses.)

I would also like Bravestarr to be absorbed into the MOTU-ology at some point.

I only found out the other day Filmation's Lou wanted to link He-Man to Bravestarr since he was working with Mattel again for the Bravestarr figures and cartoon. I knew fans were already doing that but didn't realise there was an official attempt.

Me too!

I actually found this out through one of Dan Larsen's Secret Galaxy "History of..." videos.

It just makes me want these two properties to come together even more!!

Yup, same! I don't think Mattel realises the nostalgia that's out there for Bravestarr. Mind you, they're almost certainly too cheap to do a line without much parts reuse anyway.

Mattel does not own BraveStarr, DreamWorks does.

I know, I meant as a collaboration like we're seeing now.

I saw this over at Toy Habits and thought it would make a pretty cool addition to the line if Mattel did a legit version:

@ornclown I'd give it more of the Thundertank look, rather than Cat's Lair.

I like the Cats Lair homage for the Wind Raider... I'd save the Thundertank homage for a crossover with the Battle Ram or Attack Trak.

Me too...

I'm not a fan of the TC Logo "tattooed" on BC's chest.

It's also all the more reason to be psyched!
