@heathershalla We did a Die Hard movie party at our Drafthouse as well and it was such a blast!  Also seen Shaun of the Dead and Big Trouble in Little China movie parties there, as well as so many great 80s movies.  LOVE Drafthouse!

I haven't seen Big Trouble in Little China yet and I don't know why. The stupid thing is I probably would love it

Our family watched The Christmas Chronicles last night.  Along with Captain Ron and The Thing, this is the film Kurt Russel was born to play.  Definitely one of my new all-time favorite Christmas movies.  (I'm a sucker for reindeer.  ;). )

OK I'm not even a big godzilla fan but Godzilla Minus One lived up to the hype. Lots of fun and a surprising amount of character development. My son is a big fan and he absolutely loved it.

I just rewatched the 1978 miniseries of Little Women with Meredith Baxter-Birney (Meg), Susan Dey (Jo), Ann Dusenberry (Amy) & Eve Plumb (Beth).

Other notable guest stars include Dorothy McGuire as Marmee, Greer Garson as Aunt March, Robert Young as Mr Laurence, Richard Gilliland as Laurie, Cliff Potts as John Brooke, and William Shatner as the German professor Friedrich Bhaer.

It was so good wasn't it? I made a thread for it.

I just rewatched the 1994 version of Little Women with Susan Sarandon, Winona Ryder, Trini Alvarado, Samantha Mathis, Kirsten Dunst, Claire Danes, Christian Bale, Eric Stoltz & Mary Wickes. 😀

Tomorrow night I plan to watch the 2017 version with Willa Fitzgerald, Maya Hawke, Annes Elwy, Kathryn Newton, Angela Lansbury, Michael Gambon & Jonah Hauer-King. 😀

That will just leave me with the 2019 version with Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Laura Dern, Timothee Chalamet & Meryl Streep for the night after. 😀

Yay holiday break! Extra time to watch films and read books.

The Family Plan: didn't take itself serious, knew what it was. Enjoyed it more than I expected.

Rebel Moon: seems like Snyder is just rehashing shots he filmed for 300. Hardly any character development. Forgettable.

The Iron Claw: A24 keeps rolling out quality. Tragic retelling of a family facing one crushing setback after another. Very well done.

Family movie week:

Watched "It's a Wonderful Life" the evening.  It really holds up.  Went through half a box of Kleenex.  Watched George C. Scott in "A Christmas Carol" this afternoon.  Pretty good, but I still like the Alistair Sim version better.

Next up, "The Christmas Chronicles 2'.  Watched The Christmas Chronicles earlier in the week and loved it.  Looking forward to the sequel.

Merry Christmas to one and all!  🙂

Ha Jack I just watched ‘it’s a wonderful knife’ tonight. Basically it’s the story of ‘it’s a wonderful life’ but involves searching for the identity of a serial killer angel. I don’t think it will become quite the classic that its predecessor was though. And ‘Christmas Chronicles’ and ‘Arthur Christmas’ are the Christmas Eve movies of choice.

We watched The Christmas Chronicles 2 tonight.  Enjoyable film, but imo not quite up there with the first installment.

Hard to believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve.  Feels like just yesterday when Kim and I were playing a round of golf to celebrate Halfmas, a/k/a June 25th.  🙂

We felt the same about the Christmas Chronicles 2.

Time sure is flying by...
