Watched Patton, yet again, last night and yes, all two hours and fifty minutes of it.  Along with The Carpetbaggers, Hoffa, Rudy, Double Indemnity and Mildred Pierce, it's one of My Favorite Watchable Movies.

@theman I thought Hoffa was pretty good but I think Jack and Danny may have been miscasted.

Nicholson received a Golden Globe nomination.  Interestingly, and in agreement with you, Nicholson and Danny both received Razzies.

It's an objective call.  I found them both to be great.  😉

Either way, imo it's a compelling and highly watchable film and I think they both contributed to that.  I never finish watching it and wish I had my two hours back, which is all too often the case, at least for me, with many films nowadays.

Yesterday I watched Sound of Freedom on Amazon. It is a amazing movie and a true story! I did cry a few times.

I gotta check that out and see what all the hubub is about.

I donated a ticket or two through their app to make it free for someone else to see it because I wanted to support the work..... I'm not sure I could sit through it, though.

I watched ten minutes and had to turn it off. It's not for me. 😿

The last cinematic movie I watched was Aquaman & The Lost Kingdom and the last movies on DVD I watched were Hallmark movies. 😀

I am ashamed to admit it but I love Hallmark movies. They are so bad but also so good! I watch Virgin River on Netflix too. Watch it you'll like it! 😹

I watched Night Swim and the Bee Keeper last night. Night Swim is a fairly standard not going to be a classic but was ok kinda horror film about a haunted swimming pool. I know a few people who will pee their pants out of fright watching it but alas that’s not me. The Bee Keeper was another standard action flick with Jason Statham as the titular character. Someone messes with who he loves and the elite assassin comes out of retirement to avenge her. It was fun but once against more of the same. To the point where a new Aaron Ekhart movie is coming and is basically the same premise but he’s a bricklayer not a bee keeper.

Wait you like Hoffa but never finished watching it and wish you had your two hours back? 😁

I watched it. It's a reelly good movie. It actually handles the abuse pretty gently bro. You never see any of the acts. It just makes you uncomfortable cause of the subject matter and these kids are so scared and so convincing.

I am with you there. 🙂 Click is my favorite Adam Sandler film. I really adore that comedy genre formula where they take a turn into drama during the third act and reveal a larger message at play. And Click does that expertly!

I re-watched The Batman this weekend. I think that might be my favorite Batman movie. The one complaint was that it is a looooooooooong film, but nothing in it felt like a filler.

Saw Killers of the Flower Moon over the weekend. I won't say I was disappointed because it was, after all, Scorsese, DeNiro, DiCaprio, and a lot of other really talented people telling a very important story. I was just a little underwhelmed. It felt disjointed at times.  I know there was a TON to cover. I read the book, and Grann did a great job creating a smooth narrative from all his research.  The movie didn't do as great a job at that.

My wife and I streamed Lift on Netflix last night. Safe, slick heist action film.  Nothing glaringly horrible about it but I'd imagine I'll forget about it in a month or so.

With the exception of the original Dallas and Dynasty, I think it's the best dramatic series ever on television and, yes, I know I'm old school.  And yeah, I hear someone out there yelling "Ozark", "Walking Dead", "Breaking Bad" and "Poker Face"!  I'll allow Tulsa King to be on almost the same level as Suits, but as for all the others...really? and meh.  What other series honestly compares on ALL of these elements: the cast, the chemistry, the relationships, the dialog, the ever-twisting, Byzantine and serpentine storylines that make for great viewing?  Gabriel Macht (Harvey) and Sarah Rafferty (Donna) are simply amazing, although Sarah's character takes a season to develop.  And the conspicuous consumption -- Harvey's $12,000 Tom Ford suits and $500 haircuts are tongue-in-cheek fun.  Dramatic television at its best...
