Glad to see at least two items on that list I absolutely need to have in my collection (Rio-Blast, Bashasaurus). Slimepit He-man...yea, I guess. Unless they make it a stand-alone release - the shipping to the EU is just meh via MC.Â
FF - sure, would be nice to have a carded Scareglow (mine also has slightly mis-printed eyes)
CC - I really wasn't gonna buy every single character *again*, just slightly different. But honestly, I think these are different enough ....so, yea, probably gonna get those too.Â
I do think they could accelerate their release cycle a little bit. Seems like new figures are only dropping once every six months or so :/ I really only collect MOTU, which does get a little boring with how slow new stuff is coming out 😀

Two eternias showed up today. Crackhead fedex guy put them at end if driveway. Haven’t opened them yet, but shippers are beat to hell. ErÂ
update. Well the boxes are beat to hell. Granted 1 is being opened, but still with how expensive and this being the center piece, it sucks for a sealed collection.
Â
Guess, i’ll take pics and see what mattel says.
@banthafett would be willing to part with your extra mini comic?

I hear Mattel ain't accepting returns for beat up packaging either bro. It's totally bogus. We're adult freakin collectors.

Â
it is bs, that they didn’t protect it in the first place. After taxes and shipping each one costed 623$
Â
but from looking at mine, I would say these were damaged before or while they were put in the shipper. Solid corner protectors , but corners of enternia box smashed in like an accordion. On the one we opened had a basketball size dent on the top by that something was so heavy that it pressed that it caved in and creased both sides over 10 inches down, but the shipper box has to dents or marks in that spot.
Â
The box is too heavy and oversized. This was bound to happen. Its mattel
Â
The outrage we're seeing in the fandom over this makes me think that people might think twice about supporting their next crowdfund item.
Yeah right - Mattel has us all bent over and we're loving it.
@banthafett Jeez man that’s horrible. I’d be pissed. Have you contacted them yet?
Well, let's hope this is not a common issue... because if it is, Mattel really needs to come up with some kind of apology + partial refund or whatever (well, in this one case they also should figure out some kind of compensation..).. These are very obviously marketed as collectors items, and (in theory) packaged as such (corner protectors, double-boxed). So if the inner box is damaged as described, it's on the factory... and that makes it Mattels problem imho.Â

Mine came. Shipping box looked like shit. Eternia box is all bent up on one side. I'm so fucking pissed. I haven't contacted MC yet because I know their cut and paste responses are going to piss me off even more.
Â
Aww man that sucks, sorry to hear.... as you said, I somehow don't expect Mattel to really do much about it tho either. Unless of course this is an issue with each and every Eternia and some kind of internet shitstorm descends upon them.
I know it's not much of a solace, but if you think about how much international customers had to pay for Eternia, uhhh...I think it was like 1k€ in Europe? Something ridiculous anyway. Still, it's a lot of dough either way, too much for a bent box to be acceptable. I mean, even Super7 as much smaller company managed to ship their Snake Mountain without a single scratch to customers around the world. And that cost about the same, no? Why can't f'ing Mattel do that o_O
@lasastard Maybe that packaging guy at Mattel is to blame. If he can't get spelling right on his bios how is he going to get the more complicated stuff right?
Man it totally sucks to hear people are receiving their Eternias with the box damaged. Mine's scheduled to arrive tomorrow and I'm totally nervous. With all the damaged boxes, Mattel should provide the image files for the box art so we can go to a print shop and print them out and make our own "box." The artwork on the box was very much advertised as part of the purchase. Come on Mattel! We already paid for it!
@karot-top you get a poster of the front of the box.Â

Honestly I'm so sick of people bitching here and on Facebook about the box. FFS if you weren't going to open the damb thing you spent nearly $400 on a box.

Smitty! Greetings! You might not remember me from the Org, but I was the dude that would have tons of open toys and in box stuff. I'm worried about the box condition because I plan to keep it for display. I'm definitely not selling it. I'm with ya, I definitely would not spend this much just to have a box and not open this awesome thing. I plan to make a display table with the Eternia box presented underneath and the playset on top like I did with Classics Grayskull and Snake Mountain. I suspect a lot of collectors want their boxes in good condition because they plan to keep the box even if they're opening it. But I definitely don't understand buying one and not opening it... unless you have two!
@karot-top do me a favour and leave your back door unlocked so I can sneak over and take all your stuff. I'm ridiculously jealous of that display room. Do you have a video on YouTube going through your collection? I'd love to see more.

Go a little bit out of your depth. And when you don’t feel that your feet are quite touching the bottom, you’re just about in the right place to do something exciting."

I mean, the discussion of MINT versus loose collecting is as old as the mountains, I suppose. I do prefer unboxing stuff for sure, bit even I keep the occasional carded figure in the collection. But in the case of Eternia, I think it is also a matter of principle. With a pre-order item as pricey as this, it's simply not unreasonable to expect an undamaged item to be delivered. That's precisely what the shipper boxes are for, presumably. But from the looks of it, that didn't quite work out for some folks.
On another note, after just watching an unboxing video, did they really use tape on the actual Eternia box to close the flaps up? That isn't necessarily something I expect to see on a pre-order collectible...
Â
@lasastard I agree, you shouldn't have to deal with broken packaging when you pay top dollar. Hell you shouldn't even have to deal with it when you are buying something more moderately priced. It doesn't really matter how you intend to display the item.Â

@daavid Haha! Thanks! But sorry, the He-Man Cave is locked up tighter than Teela's tunic complete video surveillance! I don't have a YouTube video of the collection, but I should. Is there a "post pics of your collection" section on this site? I could post some pics there if so.
