After a great run, the new Netflix animated series "Masters of the Universe: Revolution" has fallen off the Netflix Top 10 TV Shows in the United States chart after six days. Debuting at #6 on January 25th, it was an impressive run for an animated series based on an 1982 toy property so long ago.…

6 days is good for a He-Man cartoon right? This ain't exactly live action Star Wars.

Wait. It says 10 in the US but is -1 in movement. If it was 10 yesterday wouldn't that make it 11 today?

That is odd!

So I cleared the cache of my Netflix app and rebooted it... plus logged into Netflix from a web browser to verify... and they are both showing it as off the Top 10 (unfortunately)... with no tag in the corner saying it's a top 10 show anymore.

Well, dang. I just logged in and it still said #10, and in the split second it took for me to try and get a screen shot, the #10 was gone. Still, a great run!

Iimo, Mattel has not done the best job in advertising MOTU in general from the toys to the shows. You can't count on Fandom alone, as mighty as we are.

I would say so.  It probably is not a run away blockbuster, but shows have been renewed with this type of showing.   I believe Revelation Part 1 when tv shows and movies were combined stayed in the Overall Top 10 for about 3 days and Revelation Part 2 was only in the Kids Top 10, so this seemed to fair better than those and there was a renewal.  Also, as long as Mattel is willing to take on parts of the costs that always increases the chances of renewal.

I don't think CGI He-Man ever cracked a non-Kids Top 10 in the US.  The first season got in the Kids Top 10 .  I don't think the third  season ever got in the Kids Top 10.  It wasn't as successful as Revelation/Revolution, so no renewal past the first 26 episodes ordered.

"But fandom is cheap and does it for free!" <- Mattel exec... probably

Some passionate individuals that might work there aside my impression of modern Mattel as a whole is that they have no idea why MOTU sells; they really do not want to bother to get why it does and keep producing with dumbfounded looks on they faces completely relying on everyone else to carry the franchise. Sure, when asked they drum their chests and proclaim the opposite but... thats just cheap talk. Looking at what they do... or rather not do.

I found out they are back with MOTU by pure accident when they suddenly had toys in a local toystore. As an old fan I then looked for it and found information inside the fandom and Mattels own bubbles but I do not recall any kind of ad campaign; much less a major one.

whoa! Omg! I'm watching the show, right now, and I'm starting the fourth episode. Incredible! Till now it has been really awesome! I have really no complaints about anything I've seen, even if thanks to the internet I had already discovered some of the main spoilers! And there is so much potential for future action figures!
Thumbs up!

Ok. I've finisced to watch the whole Revolution show some minutes ago. Really, really good. The last scenes seem to promise a continuation of the series, and I'm really happy about that. When I heard Kevin Smith talking about the reasons for the 5 episodes only, suggested by an algorithm, I was sceptic, because in my opinion the producers were uncertain, after the first season, about the future of this new series, then decided to go on full steam but with a minor budget. They took the risk, but this time the story was solid, there is spotlight for all the main characters, and there is even a lot of surprises. This season now in my opinion is almost perfect, and left me wanting for more. I'm very optimist that there will be a third season and maybe they won't stop there to enclose the entire series in a trilogy.

By the action figures point of view, I'm a little bit confused: are there going to be multiple versions of He-man, Man-at-arms(->at-war, now), Teela, Scare-glow and Skeletor-tek-whatever? What about Hordak and his allies? In the last episode, there was a real explosion of new versions of the same characters, I really wonder if Mattel will really make all those versions and all the characters portrayed. Time will tell!

If renewed, there will be another 2 years between seasons, so plenty of time for new figures.
