One of us? This past Monday actress Alison Brie, who was recently announced to play the role of Evil-Lyn in the upcoming "Masters of the Universe" live-action movie from Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films, took to social media to share what items she recently acquired. Along with the terrific hardcover book "Masters of the Universe: A Character Guide and World Compendium", Alison shared new action figures that she aquired: The Masters of the Universe: Origins "Cartoon Collection" Evil-Lyn... and the "Masters of the Universe: Revelation" Masterverse "SkeleSorceress" Evil-Lyn. Check it out: It is interesting that among the action figures…

What???  Wait! What???  They cast an American white girl to play Evil-Lyn???  She's not black or Hispanic like Teela?  This can't be right.  I guess that means the Sorceress will be black.

Yeah, that's total sarcasm. Deal with it!

@sci-fitsunami Often sarcasm is used to make a point but your commentary has befuddled me. Will you agree with me when I proclaim the young actress selected to play Teela will do a fine job? I have doubts. Yet I have no doubt that she will prove to be superior representation of Teela and lightyears better than Chelsea Field.

Unfortunately, this is more than likely a marketing ploy by Mattel (yes, I am rather cynical in these matters) being used to generate hype and excitement for the film. As well as good will amongst the fans. Hopefully, she does become a fan of the figures, but the odds of becoming an adult collector while having zero connection to the figures/show from childhood is pretty slim in my opinion.

I really want this movie to be good, but I stand by my original statement: it should've been an animated film like Transformers One. Regardless, keeping my fingers crossed.

It probably is but yes, it also can be an anchor to new good memories for her and she gets into it. I have seen young generations getting into MOTU.

You're very cynical.

I like it.

Technically, I am one of those younger generations. I only turned 28 this year, but my mom and uncle were huge fans and I was about 7-8 years old when the 200x cartoon came out. Some of my best memories are driving around to different Zellers with my mom at night trying to find the figures I was missing. So its definitely possible, but I feel like the biggest anchor point for adult collecting is being a fan as a kid and then when you get older you get the financing to fund collecting properly.
