Hey everyone! I'm Josh, and I'm pretty new here. I used to hang out on the He-Man.org forums. I haven't had the chance to post here much, but I thought I'd share a crazy thought I had and see what you all think.
I got an email from Fathom Events today about their upcoming special events. For those who don't know, Fathom Events brings older films back to theaters for limited runs. They do a Studio Ghibli film each month and recently showed movies like South Park, The NeverEnding Story, and The Dark Crystal. The Fifth Element and Blazing Saddles are being screened in the coming months.
As I was checking out their lineup, I started wondering if the 1987 Masters of the Universe film would ever get the same treatment. I know it might not be a big draw for the general public, but I bet there are plenty of fans like us who would love to see it on the big screen. I was only six when it came out, so I probably first saw it on HBO or basic cable. I missed the chance to see it the way it was meant to be seen, and I'd jump at the chance to do it now.
So, what do you think? Would you pay $12-$15 to see Skeletor lying about being back? 🤣 And how do you think we could get Fathom Events to consider it for a special event? Even if MotU87 isn't a draw, I'd think Netflix could do something like this with Revelation and Revolution. Imagine watching those on the big screen! 😮Â
Again, thank you for opening your forums to those of us who lost our online home. It still doesn't feel real that the Org is no more.

It's funny that you mentioned this because we are trying to do the same thing for The Secret of the Sword.
@asterstar That's awesome! Thanks for the info. I'll check it out in a minute. You know what really made me giggle? I was going to suggest the Christmas special but figured I'd get rotten tomatoes thrown at me. 🤣

@biggieboy69 Was the Christmas Special released in cinemas or was just on television? I guess it doesn't matter. I would go. Maybe they can add an extra scene that will explain Hordak's disappearance at the end.Â
@asterstar According to my research (Google) it was just released as a tv special. It was released the same year as Secret of the Sword, so I'm thinking a double feature event could be in order.

@biggieboy69 Good idea dude just hang on to that idea until 2027 when it turns 40. They ain't going to do it unless there's an anniversary to celebrate.
@kraken The year before would be wiser because they need time to prepare but count me in.
