I'm pretty stoked for this one.
X-Men in general was a pretty big part of my high school life, but especially the animated series.
I obsessed over the Toybiz series of action figures (even waiting outside of the Toys R Us for shipments to arrive) and ended up collecting the entire line of X-related toys.
I hope that this series can recapture that original magic.

Same here! My high school friends and I would have to discreetly talk about the KB Toys repaints we were buying.

I'll probably give it a try at some point since I loved the original, but I have reservations. Even though it is supposed to take place directly after the last series ended, I get the feeling the show will feel more like it takes place in 2024 than 1997.

I heard he was fired because he had an OnlyFans account but I don't know if it's true.

I read that his OnlyFans was known before he was hired, and that he was fired, because he was credibly accused of sexual misconduct. Hence, why he deleted all of his social media accounts in advance of the allegations being made public.

I watched the first two episodes today and it did not disappoint. I was transported back to being a young teen. The animation is consistent with the original series but improved somewhat and the Original voice cast seem to be all there. Very happy and will be looking forward to Wednesdays for the next couple of months
I have to watch this but I've been rewatching the original show so I can just pick up where that one left off. 🙂
By the power, for the honor, for the glory of Grayskull!
Oh yes, it was worth the wait. Doesn't hesitate in delving deep into some of the more divisive lore from the comics, Gambit, Rogue, Cyclops and Jean fans are all in for a rollercoaster this season.

Is it advisable to watch the original series first or can one delve into the new one blind?
@durendal I think you can jump in blind as long as you have a bit of super basic knowledge on the characters and their relationships to each other. Like Magneto is a bad guy and Logan is in love with Jean etc. obviously there are references to the previous series storylines but they pretty much make the point without having to do any homework.

I wish Masters of the Universe Revolution had that many views!

Interesting experiment with this week's instalment...they split it into two episodes. First half was Jubilee and Roberto trapped in a video game (with plenty of missed oppertunities to go and reference some memetic one-liners from the old games), the return of Mojo too...the second half was more on Storm and Forge's developing romance (they've come far from meeting up in a bar just over a week ago!)
I liked the Jubilee one a bit more, Lifedeath is one of the heavier and surreal X-Men stories so I'll need that second part for greater immersion.
Surprised nobody here is talking about episode five. It may be the best thing Marvel's produced from either comics, movies, or TV in quite some time

I haven't listened to Ace of Base in years. That was a great song choice....anytime someone plays it now, I'm gonna say turn the music off! Now! He's coming!
I suppose I like it overall, but they definitely made some storyline choices I've not been overly fond of including killing off my favorite character. I also feel it is very 2024 and doesn't feel much like 1997. Â
