Power-Con is now a general toy convention not much different than others.  I miss having a MOTU centric convention.  Do you think Mattel or anyone else will pick up the mantle and do a MOTU con again?  These last couple of years have been the most popular MOTU has been since the 80s, but no MOTU convention.  Power-Con as a MOTU con basically died because Mattel pulled doing exclusive figures for them.

i wholeheartedly second this, yes motu IS back and there is more than enough fandom and love to warrant a fully-fledged he-man and she-ra gathering and celebration !

i've never been able to go to power-con sadly and going off of google, there doesn't seem to be any other motu convention besides power-con. i guess there is also the castle grayskull attraction at mattel adventure park in glendale (when it finally opens 🙏🏽)

i may be mistaken but don't mattel do motu exclusives for SDCC ?

have you ever been to power-con yourself, @firefly

@adoralovely Yes, Mattel still does MOTU SDCC toy exclusives that they also sell on their Mattel Creations website.

I went to the 2016-19 and 2021 Power-Cons, so 5 total.  I missed their first 3 Power-Cons that were before their failed attempt to do one in New York area rather than LA area.  Those earlier cons also featured Thundercats and one year TMNT as well.  I wouldn't mind if a new MOTU con had to share with another property as well as long as at least half the panels and such were MOTU focused.

I miss Power-Con (the MOTU one). Reading between the lines, I interpreted it dying because Mattel wanted to decentralize fan control of the property (i.e., JVS3 and co.) Couple that with Val aging + rude attendees regarding Mattel's nonattendance near the end of the pandemic. Of course, everyone has played nice with each other (so nothing negative will be said), but I seem remember an interview with one of the sculptures that flat out said MOTU was controlled by a small group of fans, and they wanted to break out of that.
