Am I the only one other than Owen who was not impressed with Granamyr in MOTU Revolution? He had none of the charisma he had in the old cartoon and there was no indication what he was dying from. It was a big disappointment for me. A great legacy character completely mishandled.
I generally dislike ALOT of the kill happieness of the show. I mean killing off the Sorceress could be a sad trope by now. But about Grwanamyr; the only thing I was dissapointed of was not having more of him. I felt their take on Granamyr was great. And I loved the detail that he only wore his helmet in battle AND it looked infinitely less silly than in the old cartoons.
My impression on him dying was thats simply old age with the previous long time disruption of magic. I would had preferred him being restored though.
i'm right there with you, boys.
i love dragons/dragon folklore and i hope we get to see more of darksmoke in the future. had the series more episodes, we could have gotten a few scenes of teela exploring darksmoke and seeing what life is like there. the snowy, mountainous environments reminded me of the elder scrolls : skyrim
i hope we learn more about darksmoke and the eternian dragons in later episodes, supplemental material (the dark horse comics etc)
i would love to see torm, shadow wing, maybe even the ice trolls
I mean he was like 10,000 years old and one of the oldest beings on Eternia. The only thing older than him was Skytree - which is why he tasked He-man with chopping him down to save MAA in the FILMation episode (even though he didn’t really mean it and it was a test for He-man). Also the magic that presumably kept him alive was erased from Eternia for a time and maybe by the time it returned it was too late to save the ancient dragon.
@dan1980 Yeah i mean we are advancing in the story of Adam timeline-wise so I have no problem with the great dragon passing on
The Filmation Granamyr is superior to me but I had zero problems with this take other than his riddle. The more footsteps you take, the more you leave behind riddle is as common to riddles as the knock knock joke is to jokes.
