I thought that was dead months/years ago...
My understanding was that legal reasons prevented the release and that nothing had changed. Was the kickstarter the workaround?
As I understood it, the ban was on releasing the episode as an episode. And the workaround was that they were allowed to release a documentary on the process they took to create it instead, which more or less will have the episode albeit broken up into chunks and showing the process and interviews interspersed with it.

Pretty much. I worked in a small way with this fan animation by James and Dusan. It's a terrific 30+ minute "new" episode. {he-man}:smile:
It was featured at Power-Con as I recall, and it will be a part of the "Faking Filmation" Documentary. Backers for the documentary caught a glimpse of it last year (or 2021) around Christmas or so, and I think someone after it leaked it briefly.

@he-dad The episode will come as special feature with the documentary. I was one of the backers and they sent us what the current version of the episode was like as a watch along (it's pretty great) but we can't share it, otherwise I would.

Ahhh, terrific info guys! Thank you. I was wondering what had happened. Glad it's getting out there, and honestly, this documentary sounds like a better version of it than just leaving it as an episode because this way people will have context on it.
There is supposed to some more edits to it including people like myself who paid an extra hundred bucks to be a background character. I kind of regretted paying that much afterwards since I'm sure it will be quick. Hopefully, it isn't too Where's Waldo-ish. Also, I have also yet to be contacted by them for my likeness. You'd think we'd be contacted by now with the documentary supposedly very close to done. I have reached out a couple times about it.
I have the full 2021 version to stream. Backers were given access to it. It basically split up in two parts with talk before, in the middle, and afterwards. They also have a border around it through out. I think someone put it on YouTube for a short bit which really made them mad.

That freaking box... Its a big, massive love-letter to MotU in general and Filmation specifically. I really hope it gets a restock for all those who missed out.

I can deal with the menus being in German. My problemo was they wouldn't ship it to the US.
