We have the Power!
I am picking up my copy today and it will be just the normal copy for me. I can't wait!
your girl got cover b ! i was freakin' obsessed w that "who is despera?" variant since i first saw it.
(although it's funny that NONE of those characters on that particular cover feature in the comic itself.....🤪
i mean, i'm not saying that i was seriously expecting skeleteen of ALL characters to be in this issue (well, or even in this continuity for that matter) but still, it's so weird that he was included. tim seeley is such a lore nerd, love it! lol
🇺🇸 SNOUT SPOUT FOR PRESIDENT 🇺🇸
@he-metayer I wouldn't say heavily. They show everything leading up to the kidnapping but not the act itself. We all know it's Adora, because who else would it be that's even part of the lore associated with this story.
Anyone who's only exposure to MOUT was these comics and shows wouldn't have a clue.

As I have previously brought up, variant covers operate on a different "level" (in the case of DH MOTU comics currently). They have more freedom to use artists who may not be associated with MOTU in any way, and the illustrations depicted in them do not often reflect in any way what happens inside the comic itself. In this instance, "NONE OF THEM" appeared as the mystery character is kinda the point. 😉 🙂 🙂

Despara is still a relatively new invention by Rob David, that Mattel used in the comics through DC at the time. And even MOTU fans themselves are more focused on toys, so at the time story developments in over 50 comic issues didn't necessarily pertain to the fans.
Classics was kind enough to give us a figure of Despara (bio and minicomic not withstanding). But overall yeah, if a new fan hopped over to watch a new MOTU cartoon in 2021 and its Season 2 in 2024... they may not have a clue.
I really enjoyed the payoff from reading the comics that came out with the first season of the show. The storyline about Skeletor’s family… he was lying but he thought he was telling the truth, so can you really call that deception? It was Hordaks deception all along. I remember Tim being coy about this plot point in an interview on here at the time. So sneaky 😉
I’m glad Skeletor didn’t really have to leave his daughter behind, but at the same time am a little sad that there really is no Skelebaby out there for us to find.
I had to pick up my comic late; now I’m excited to have a new podcast episode to listen to!
I am one of the dumber fans adora lovely when it comes to He-Man and She-Ra history so I don't know that much about Skeleteen but that name!😆 It reminds me of those cartoons that turned characters into babies like Muppet Babies.your girl got cover b ! i was freakin' obsessed w that "who is despera?" variant since i first saw it.

I like the idea of a Skelegirl too Heather M. What would she be like? Is she loyal to Hordak? Would she be like her father? Would she be worse? Despara being Adora is the only choice but I think it would have been interesting if they could keep her real and not a Hordak manipulation.
Overall I enjoyed this series very much. Saryn was such a B word! 🤯 Hordak was perfect. Keldor I felt bad for but not too much. It was fun and educational to see all the flashbacks. It wasn't too actiony and very wordy which is very me. It felt adult and that is how I like my Eternia.
