They definitely came to the US legally but they got out to the people in less than favorable conditions.
Mattel's press release said they would ship this month but had an embargo until January.

I would say just get the TMNT characters if you're unsure about collecting anything.

if he can't decide which fig to get then why not?
Your collection should be a reflection of you. If your collection is all about He-Man vs Skeletor they you should buy every He-Man and Skeletor that they make. If your collection is about recapturing your childhood they just get the figures six-year-old you would had wanted. If you want something that will increase in value get into the stock market.

I'm actually fine if someone wants to consider value in their decision making bro. People do that stuff with like comics too and with those rare variant covers. It's not about making money because they are not selling them but they still get all excited about how much their collection is worth. It's not my way thinking but it's cool, it's cool. 😎

I will buy certain things knowing/hoping they will go up in value to sell down the road. The extra money I make I put back in to my collecting
@brasco there are 5 or 6 Mossmen at my local Walmart that seem to be asking for me to put them on eBay...
