@smitty-81 Me too. The vintage FZ design sucked. Not sure why so many are clamoring for it in the exact form as the original.
The imagination did and does all the heavy lifting with FZ, helped greatly by the OG box art. The place is one big trap and that's always amongst the coolest elements of a good playset. It's also a much more visual memory than the cartoon Fright Zone for many. Which in itself is a childhood thing coupled with a lot of folks never owning it originally.Â

@sketchyskeletor I get that but for a line for collectors and children that only helps so much. At the very very least give Hordak somewhere to sit and maybe come cover for when it rains.

It'll sell anyway because they'll either have to plus it up somehow or sell it at a vastly different price point than the main two sets. If it changes too much without those aspects essentially being choosable accessories folks won't be happy. Most people will want vintage with new aspects and options that 'fit', same as it's predecessors. For all we know they might do something with the back anyway.Â

@sketchyskeletor I still don't get that line of thinking at all. After seeing the incredibly epic, dark, even industrial FZ on Filmation, coming across the vintage playset I felt overwhelmed by disappointment. I was like, "What the hell?!?!? This middling rock with a tree is what they're trying to pass off as Hordak's lair, which looks NOTHING like the magificent version shown on our beloved show day after day??" I considered it a HUGE fail as a kid, and it's even worse to me now. Now that I think about it, that let down at the time might have been what triggered my waning interest in MOTU, from where I started emphasizing G.I. Joe more, which was awash with epic playsets and vehicles.
Mattel, give us a PROPER Fright Zone. The Doom Tower concept was a nice start, though it would need more than that to be complete.

You have to remember She-Ra wasn't the hit Masters was and the Horde were part of the Masters line. And in reality even the Horde themselves were whatever Mattel/Filmation thought was prudent, toys be damned.Â

Odd discussion, considering that Origins ("Vintage") has so far been a celebration of the original line, sticking to updating some of the engineering (and sadly dropping many of the action features, but hey). So I don't understand how people could even suggest that the Fright Zone needs to be redesigned. That's just not the point of V-Origins.
Now, with that said, we do not actually know if the FZ will be part of the "Vintage" line, or the Cartoon Collection. The latter would open up all sorts of doors to change things anyway they like to make it reflect the design seen in the cartoon. But I doubt it. More likely they will follow the same strategy they used for the Snake Mountain; make some subtle updates, but keep the asthetics intact. And again, for what V-Origins set out to do, that's imho the right decision.
Another look at the HE-MAN 2.0 one can display from the new Masters of the Universe: Origins "Cartoon Collection" FAKER action figure.

I bet sales went up for the cartoon collection when John died.
New PREORDERS up. Ordered 2x invisible skeletor, 2x buzz off, 3x frosta.
Has it been discussed why Mattel bumped all the waves down to 3 figures instead of 4? Does removing 1 figure make some kind of difference?Â
Â
Frosta looks awesome but her accesories are kinda meh. I don't know if I should bother pre-ordering her or just wait til she is in stock. None of these figures seem to be hard to find.Â

I can only speak to the UK scenario and that's either the figures are massively overproduced or very few want them. Origins CC now goes on almost immediate clearance and that's with better distribution than Vintage had. And I think that's the issue, why would you buy into yet another line from Mattel they can't supply properly?
