Didn't realise he was a CG exclusive, what is actually wrong with Mattel?

I was gonna buy a bunch of him and throw him into my various displays to fill out the Horde crew, plus the robots would have been useful. But nope, they allow one only, even though I ordered 3x He-Ro. 

@sketchyskeletor he's only exclusive for today tomorrow you can buy your limit of three on however many accounts you have.

My Vultak shipped already. That was fast!

Yup, everything I saw said CG exclusive. Even said it on the copy yesterday.

So I just got the Adam and Cringer 2-pack from Target because they were selling it for half off, $15 and I knew it was a steal. I already have quite the MOTU Origins collection, but this is my first Cartoon Collection figure. Planned to get some of these once I got more normal Origins figures but maybe a few CC figures now wouldn't hurt.

So I'm asking you guys I've heard that the new CC Faker legit makes for a better animation accurate He-Man than the Wave 1 one. I want some opinions, is it worth getting over normal CC He-Man to stand in for He-Man? Do y'all recommend CC Faker?

Maybe get two of them for obvious reasons.

Normal Origins Faker is a figure I've been wanting to get for a long time but eBay aftermarket prices. Soon. Soon. I mean they're only $40-60. Trust me those prices are absolutely nothing compared to Transformers aftermarket.

"Faker? I think you're the fake He-Man around here. You're comparing yourself to me? Ha! You're not good enough to be my fake."

Also is CC Skeletor a good figure for someone getting into Cartoon Collection?

First off: congratulations on getting the Adam / Cringer 2-Pack. It is one of my absolute favorite toys of 2024, and one of my favorite MOTU toys overall.

Second: If you missed CC He-Man the first time around, I would totally just get CC Faker as a stand-in. The only real gripe I have with Faker is the fact that his skin tone is a bit too light... He-Man should be tan. However, the smooth (Filmationesque) boots, redder loincloth / feet, and more slender scabbard are all reasons that outweigh the skin difference... for me anyway.

CC Skeley is probably the weakest of all the CC collection figures.

Don't get me wrong, he is a great toy, but not very Filmation accurate.

I know that the Cartoon Collection isn't supposed to be a 1:1 to Filmation, but even with lights-turned-off, calling this version of Skeletor "cartoon" is a stretch. (This issue is probably exacerbated for me because I have him standing next to the Club Grayskull MOTUC version...)

At the end of the day though, I would still recommend him as a counterpart for He-Man.

I saw this puppy a bit ago and wished that Mattel's looked as good:

@durendal that's looks like Barbossa's work but he's having problems with his local post office so I'd hold off on ordering from him.

Yep!

There are a couple on eBay right now...

Search "Filmation Skeletor head origins" and some will pop up.

I've gotten a couple of custom parts for MOTUC, Origins, and Myhtic Legions on eBay, and I'm always impressed with what people can do nowadays.

It's just too bad Mattel has never seen an episode of Master of the Universe, otherwise they could do this themselves.

@ornclown savage, but unfortunately true, comment! It's really kind of pathetic that a multi-billion dollar toy company with 80 years of experience and huge resources is frequently incapable of delivering an accurate, high quality sculpt for one of their very own signature IP's while some bum in his basement with a 3D printer on a zero budget can. If I were MOTU brand manager, I'd be actively looking to replace my in-house sculpting team with these randos on the internet.

@durendal fair but Barbossa doesn't use 3D printing, his stuff is injection moded and really high quality.

The Classics Club Grayskull Filmation Skeletor head looks good.  And Mattel made that. Then Super7 rereleased it. 

My biggest gripe with the Cartoon Collection is that all the females are waaay too little. They look ridiculous standing next to the males.  Being like 6 females in, I guess it’s too late to course correct…

Yup... it really sheds light on the disparity between someone who is passionate about a property and someone who is only in it for the paycheck.

I said the exact same thing on another forum when Teela was released... other fans didn't seem to notice.

However, there is no doubt that the female CC figures are an almost entirely different scale than the males.

@ornclown that might be a bit of an over exaggeration but you do have a good point. The women of MOTU shouldn't be dainty. They need to meet more, Lucy, Lawless and Gal Gadot and less Scarlett Johansson.

Interestingly, the CC She-Ra stands almost the same height as vintage POP She-Ra.

So the issue is simply that the men are too tall.

But either way the disparity is very annoying.
