@admin Mekaneck and Kobra Khan teased - nice. Still, I'm eagerly awaiting more actual Filmation characters than just the usual ones we already have multiple figures of...
@alteredquantum vintage Stratos came with red wings and a blue jetpack or blue wings and a red jetpack.
I had the first one. What a pity that is not faithfully represented in Origins.
Rumour of a 4-pack coming which will contain 1 army builder figure for each faction: Heroic, Evil, Horde, and Snake Men.

It could really be anything for each, like Hover Bots for either Skeletor or Hordak, any amount of redeco Horde Troopers, Snake Warriors, Skelcons, Skeleton Warriors, Bird People, Bee People Rock People, Mer-People, Larry Flynt vs The People...
@sketchyskeletor I pray that's not just cheapass repaints, but actually something interesting. How about finally getting those medieval style Palace Guards that they teased ages ago?
One thing is for sure, they know how to make a quick buck! For a change, Mattel, feel free to use that profit margin for dusty chimeras like some pleading hordian mount seen several times on Motu Origins cardbacks, or even a certain Baschasaurus teased a few times too ...
Do we think they'll ever announce a Crystal Castle? That is one fantastic-looking playset. So long as it wasn't a crowdfund I'd buy it immediately.
@sketchyskeletor I would say it'll be this year for She-Ra's 40th anniversary but apparently we're getting the Fright Zone. Maybe when or if they ever get that live action TV show going.

With the chat Hasbro are considering made to order I'd settle for Mattel doing that, it would hopefully enable cartoon stuff in that scenario too.
@sketchyskeletor I don't think Hasbro us going full MTO just for some of their bigger items.
But honestly, after what happened with Wun-Dar Grizzlore, I don't want maid to order. We had a window to place our orders for at least 48 hours for both figures. And then after the window closed, we saw complaining I didn't know it was gonna happen. Then we had to deal with a year of people asking, where's my figure even though it was stated outright when the figures would start shipping. Then, after the figures came out, people came back to saying I didn't know this was a thing that happened. Mattel's current way of doing things is working, at least for figures. Maybe MTO for vehicles and playsets, but we'll still have the same problem within the fandom.

I would love a Crystal Castle. But only if they make it the Filmation castle. Ditto with a Filmation CG. I'd buy both without hesitation 🙂
The original CC was a dollhouse. I liked it for what it was, but it wasn't the real Crystal Castle.

That's what I meant in product terms. But people are gonna people, any toy collecting these days requires continual online engagement. It absolutely sucks but it's your choice to participate or not.

Supposedly more info today at 9am Pac/12pm eastern. Not sure how I feel about the members only figure if thats true. Going to be a lot of unhappy people
Is this their way of getting back the money they wasted on that rigged voting outcome prototype no one wants?
Pay a fee, to be able to pay for toys, and get voting privileges for rigged polls. Sounds like a good deal.
Ooo, back to a subscription service, just like the old Classics days? Hmmm, very interesting. As someone who is constantly screaming from the heavens for Mattel to stop with endless variants of mostly A-listers and give us more deep cut characters that have been waiting decades to get a figure, if this will make that a possibility then I'm all for it. If it's not going to enable that, then it's a waste of money. I'll be watching very closely as to what will be offered. It better be creative and interesting.
Seems like a quick cash grab. They offer nothing, the people who will buy the figures from this club would buy the figures from plain creations. So whats the point, other then collect an extra 10 bucks from us? They can shove their voting, you can buy the MOD shirts and other stuff already.
It's scummy AF, nothing but a tax for stuff that should be available on Cretins anyway.
Paywall for PoG it looks like already (planned but unproduced figures previously hit retail so no excuse). Should not be happening. Ever.
Voting rights? Being charged to vote? In a rigged, weird AF poll they already guessed the answers to? What?
Early sale access on stuff that didn't sell for perfectly good reasons?
Exclusive content? Nobody cares. Your mini comics are trash!
They'll never admit it but Cartoon Collection and ToG visibly weren't the hits they need them to be and with the best will in the world Thundercats isn't gonna be a breakout hit after years of Mattel malpractice with Origins, Masterverse, Netflix, Cretins, exclusives... only the hardcore are left. Nobody can trust Mattel to finish anything in a way that doesn't involve treating your hobby as a second job.
I could see them using this to offset the vehicles etc alongside non-vintage playsets (Eternia was a crowd fail truth be told, much less the Snake Lair), and won't be surprised at all if loads of Cretins figures now fall under it. As we know, at the current rate we'll be pensioners by the time Mattel even finishes vintage...
I hope none of the She-Ra merch gets trapped behind the paywall of this membership. I do not miss the days of MattyCollector.
For real, just make your toys more widely available! Not less! It's that simple!
Also on FB, someone is teasing a Filmation Crystal Castle WIP...is it from Mattel and legit or just a fan thing?
I'm excited about this "Club"! I'm pretty much a completionist when it comes to MOTU & POP, so if this helps me avoid potential quick sellouts and gets me some exclusive figures/goodies, I'm all for it.
As someone who purchased everything, I was all for the sub model in Classics and this is even better because people aren't going to be forced into buying things they don't want, other than a yearly charge that is literally less than 84 cents a month.
I can understand people who are cherry picking the line not being too pleased but if there's an exclusive figure that they want, paying $9.99 for a yearly membership is much less than what they'll pay getting it on the secondary market.
