@kraken I like variants but I get why some people won’t pick up extras

I might pick up a Tri-Klops to use his boots for a TMNT Last Ronin inspired custom.

@kraken I would hope that the FF line could go on long enough to include Prince Adam, Mekaneck or some of the figures currently planned for MC release.

Well it seems like our mileage here is heavily varying! Agree to disagree. I have a soft spot for the original design elements of the vintage She-Ra, but I don't think the Origins version captures them at all. The plastic "belt" is chunky and looks cheap rendered in the primary-color yellow plastic...the face sculpt is not working at all...the sculpted hair looks like yellow noodles or something...pretty much the only improvements upon the original are the articulated elbows and knees...and as we know, the original Origins knees on the female figures were squared off for some strange reason, so I can't even really compliment them on the added articulation.

The face on the vintage She-Ra was far better (in all the variations), and the fabric costume and rooted hair gave the character real visual appeal. The Origins She-Ra is a weak approximation of that.

They'd really be better off making a proper Filmation Cartoon Collection She-Ra...but I've only said that 57 million times now, so I'm sure everyone's sick of hearing me say it 😆

She-Ra, I love. This version? Not so much. If they'd retooled her a bit for the reissue, with a better face and hair, and used better fabrics for the cape and skirt? I'd definitely give her higher marks.

did you like the Masterverse She-Ra?

I haven't picked her up yet, believe it or not! I've considered it...but we're still seeing the same weird issues that plagued the Classics ladies: odd proportions and skirts. Why is She-Ra's skirt triangular? Why does a svelte, athletic female figure have to look so weirdly hunched and long-legged (I think this 7 inch scale is part of the issue somehow). Plus there's the crown - they clearly did whatever they wanted with the "wings" because those are absolutely not the Filmation ones we all know and love.

I just don't get what's so hard about making the figure look the way the character did. Should be easy enough, right? But Mondo added details, Mastersverse added/changed details, Classics plain old botched details...Super7 was the only company trying to get it right and even they fell short in some ways.

I like the Mastersverse accessories, but I've put off buying her. Someday I'll cave.

Different more dark color jewel

It's not enough for me but for some this is enough to warrant another purchase.

Yeah I do like the darker color gold and the way they packaged her weapons, but it's not enough for me to buy another figure.

Guess I'm stuck with being bored for now lol.

the skirt is a triangle now because they can't show a woman in a mini skirt anymore. it doesn't matter that He-Man is in a furry banana hammock. you show skin on a woman where they can almost see their underwear and they freak out.

The super7 She-ra is very accurate but the paint on her face was off. Her eyes were spread out too far

@smitty-81 thats the vintage look. Masterverse is for todays collector and thats the way things are designed now the cartoons and the figures. you won't see sorceress in a short skirt and you wont see ileena like she was in filmation.

@smitty-81 Vintage was successful but you are limited to your catalog. There's not much more they could do with it. Creating new characters is a good lifeline but mix it up. Let's not rebrand this line the Snake Men.

@longtooth there could be more snake men coming.

Seen on the cover of Axel Gimenez and Leonardo Vega’s new book: KINGS OF THE SNAKE MEN , two new MOTU Origins Figures are being teased! There are two figures teased on the cover of the new book, they are High Priest Pythonus, yet to be named Red Snake men character with the lower body of Lady Slither, and Toxoid! These figures have a long history of being teased on the back of Kol-Dar’s card art and on the back of the MOTU Origins Moss Man package art

I think adding the Rulers of the Sun was a good call but they did too much too fast, but I assume there were behind the scenes things going on. They should have mixed in PoP, 200X and NA with the VC from year two. Just to keep a good mix of returning and new characters. If they had done that they could have possibly mixed in "concept" characters, like NA Man-at-Arms or 200X She-Ra.

All I know is that the upcoming CC Teela better have her screen-accurate big booty with some cheek sticking out of the sides of her leotard.

And Ileena, if they ever get to her (and I hope they will) needs to have that very oddly suggestive dip at the front of her miniskirt 😆

@ravewayneboo I'm not sure how many people actually play with these, like, at all 😉

But I think it isn't surprising if this happens occasionally, considering how comparatively small that peg is - wouldn't need much force to weaken it over time. Sorry to hear this happened 🙁

So I got my first toon collection figure, the man himself. Well... I think these look fine. The cardback is nice -  I might even like it better than the original. The figure itself looks fairly similar to the main-line origins figures, with some updated sculpting. It is pretty subtle tho - if you don't have these standing side by side, I am not sure you'd even notice. The Filmation face sculpt is suprisingly decent, but still a little "off". I think Classics probably got a tiny bit closer with their CG release.

Still, nice these are coming out now. Especially since I wasn't much interested in the Snakemen (at least not all those odd variants), Rulers of the Sun and am only luke warm on the Turtles of Grayskull releases.

@lasastard if they had the CC face with the wave 1 VC hair they would have the perfect He-Man head.
