They should sell 2 packs with a PoP hero and a Horde member in each. Most Horde members would sell a lot more readily and they could jack the price since its 2 packs. Best of both worlds for us fans who want both.
Â
I have to believe there is a bigger fan base for PoP than ROTS, and they managed to get through those figures. Maybe I'm wrong I guess since ROTS didn't really get any exposure over in Ireland where I grew up.Â
Since Sun Man is owned by a different company I gotta think there was some kind of number of figures contracted that had to be made even if sales was in the toilet. And maybe they are in the toilet considering Mattel is pushing these still which it doesn't for other releases.
@he-dad Other people struggled to find Masterverse She-Ra so I think it was just distribution issues. Origins She-Ra is getting a re-release so she must have sold well. I think if they do away with the soft goods and replace them with plastic the She-Ra figures will come off less as girl toys but I don't think there's no demand for them. Maybe not all the characters but most MOTU fans want at least the main ones.
It wasn’t just She-ra being clearanced out, well by me anyway. When masterverse was stocked on a regular basis when the new waves came out they marked down whatever was on the shelf. Personally this is how I got Beast man, King Grayskull, Andra, Sun-man, She-ra, Hordak,  Frosta and Evil Lyn
lol, glad you like it. Mattel, if you're listening, consider this my job application, haha

Go a little bit out of your depth. And when you don’t feel that your feet are quite touching the bottom, you’re just about in the right place to do something exciting."

That re-release point is a good one bro. Guess it was distribution issues or maybe that higher deluxe pricing too. I think they should have put She-Ra out as a standard fig like all the masterverse He-Men.

You saved a lot of coin. I found all of them on the shelf except Sun-Man. Never could find him for some reason.
Idk if anyone saw yet but toy habits has an anonymous source saying Bow and She-ra are coming to the cartoon collection. Are his sources legit?
Much of what they've said came from their various sources has turned out to be true. However they were at one point saying that Terroar and Lord Gr'Asp were going to be in wave 13 or 14. IMO both of those wave would have benefited for those two replacing 200X Randor and Serpent Claw Man-at-Arms.
@smitty-81 either way, I'm so glad I read this as I was about to begin a Bow custom. I might still need to make some changes since the series has an altered buck. I hope they use his vintage toy look with the scale armor but I guess it's doubtful since it is an animation based collection. 🤔🤷

There must be something coming on MC soon to take another step towards completing vintage surely!Â

@daavid I really thought we'd get a crowdfunding item for 2023 bro. First it was like YEA ETERNIA'S CHOICE and then it just kinda fizzled out and feels like they'll get to it when the get to it. Wasn't the Eternia playset super successful? Ever hear of striking when the iron is hot Mattel? Idunno
Given the move to the cartoon collection I am not really excited about the upcoming figures personally.
Â
I ponder how Mattel believes these figures will be appealing to collectors who already own the Classics cartoon line.
Â
Â
I could have been more into it if they were doing what Super7 did in doing figures that are a cross between Filmation and vintage but more articulated. My main gripe with these figures are the cartoony heads and that they don't even fit in scale wise with the other Origins figures.Â
@he-dad I know, they are really leaving us wondering what is going on. I hope they give us something to get excited about before year end.

I did find it peculiar that Mattel abandoned their 40th Anniversary 4-Pack design.

That's a good point bro. Everyone seemed happy with that filmation figure. Maybe cuz those things still haven't sold out. Idunno.
