@smokinya How exciting! A time to decide what fate holds in store for my Motuc replicas of these (Marzo, Ceratus, Prahvus, Carnivus, Dactys ...) but what I'm really anticipating right now is Evil Lyn and the Sorceress design, their Neca staction renditions boded such promising results as articulated figures ...
The Neca staction's were great. The first wave of figures will contain He-Man and two villains (one deep cut and one popular one). For the deep cut I'm personally hoping that we get Webstor (I know Peter has been DYING to get a Webstor made) or Marzo/Evil Seed.
The 200x Sorc and Evil-Lyn designs are also my favorite renditions of those characters so I'm really excited for when those come out. As I said before if this line takes off like the 1/6th scale one I'm guessing that we'll be getting a Battle Cat/Panthor in the next 1.5 years as well.
@ornclown They did mention that the line would have soft goods similar to the 1/6th scale line. I'm leaning towards them being closer to a mixture of real/toyism like the 1/6th line. On top of that I personally would prefer them to designed like the Neca Staction figures, but I would happily take a cell shaded paint job as well. I think their X-Men/Spider-Man lines are awesome. Luckily for my wallet I'm not really into the series very much.

Indeed, I'm an outspoken critic of the MYP series... it is my least favorite iteration in all of MOTU.
However, if we got a screen accurate He-Man in the 200X style, I would pick one up. Beyond that, I would most likely skip the rest of any 200X offerings because I feel the 4H really dropped the ball on those redesigns... they missed the whole point of what MOTU should be, IMO.

Yeah, we differ quite a bit there I'm afraid. The 200x series was my introduction to MOTU growing up. My Uncle was a big fan of the original series and had a lot of the Vintage toys as well, but 200x has always been "my" MOTU. I prefer the 200x designs over the Vintage look by leaps and bounds. I will say that looking back on the 200x figures themselves there is definitely something to be desired, but the renditions on the TV series I really love. Especially the redesigns of Buzz-Off, Webstor, all of the Snake Men and The Evil Horde to name a few. This line is definitely a bit of a dream come true for me.
In fact that's why I love Mondo and Tweeterhead in the first place. The figures/maquettes are a mismash of Vintage and 200x a bit of extra spice from the designers as well. It helps that Emiliano (who is the father of the 200x designs) is the primary concept artist for Mondo 1/6th as well. Really pumped for this upcoming weekend to see what we're working with! Space is definitely becoming an issue though. I'm too deep on 1/6th to abandon it and it seems like the 1/12th releases are going to be more frequent than the larger figures.
@smokinya I can totally understand that.
While I still respect and love it, Star Trek TOS is my Dad's Star Trek. I grew up on The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager so I have a much closer affinity for those iterations.
And, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed MOTU 200X when it was airing (especially because it was a MOTU renaissance of sorts) and there are parts that I still like to this day. I suppose I'm just not a fan of the animation style (which is weird, because I LOVE Fantastic Four: WGH) and I definitely don't like the redesigns - as previously mentioned.
Like you, space is always at a premium, so I dialed it way back on the 1:6 offerings. I didn't get AE He-Man, Trap-Jaw, Beastman, Panthor, or Prince Adam... and I only have the first release of Scareglow. Evil-Lyn and the Green Goddess will most likely be the last two I get - unless something really incredible comes out like MYP He-Man or -better yet- New Adventures He-Man.

If they go the cel shaded route they will save me a ton of money. I cannot stand cel shading. I've yet to see a figure in which I didn't think cel shading ruined it completely.

It was fine but the 200X animation style didn't blow my skirt up either when I first watched it. Now if I grew up with 200X as a kid I'm sure I would be all like hell yeah! That is the power of nostalgia. The same goes with Filmation. Whatever you watched as a kid can take a hold of you and never let you go. Those nostalgic feelings are powerful dude and they become the way you prefer to see MOTU characters for the rest of your life. It's crazy.

Well said.
I agree 100%

I actually think the Mondo Cyclops (from X-Men TAS) looks pretty good.

Based on what they've said I highly doubt they will go the cell shaded route. They've essentially said that they're doing to 200x what they've done with the 1/6th line. Emiliano is going to continue doing the designs on the 1/6th line and will also be designing the figures for the 200x line as well. On top of that they told us to expect soft goods for fur, cloaks, etc. so unfortunately I'm thinking you'll need to open up your wallet 🤣 but we'll see for ourselves in a couple days.
In other quick Mondo news I skimmed through the WonderCon ToyTalk on YouTube last night and got some tiny tidbits to share about MOTU. I only watched the section where they spoke about The Goddess figure so if they mentioned other MOTU stuff throughout the broadcast I didn't catch it. Here are the two main take-aways:
- They spent time talking about their female character line-up using the photo Raul took of Teela, She-Ra, Evil-Lyn and The Goddess. Hector went on to mention that The Goddess is their favourite female sculpt they've done so far and teased another female character coming out soon. Safe to say this will probably be the Sorceress, but no confirmation on that
- Hector and Peter went on to talk about how much support the MOTU line has gotten from us. He even went so far as to say that the reason they can create figures like The Goddess in the first place is due to the amount of support the MOTU line has received. They said the support allows them to produce more niche figures like The Goddess as opposed to only being able to do more popular characters (cited Trap-Jaw, Beast Man, etc.). So some good news regarding how things are going at Mondo since we were talking about it a couple pages back
Excited for this Friday! Really hoping Mondo has a panel too so we can get some teases for what's coming to 1/6 later this year as well. The Goddess figure was definitely NOT on my Bingo card so here's hoping for some more cool surprises!
The reason I thought that Mondo might go the cel shaded route is because of their Revelation Skeletor:

Luckily I checked Mondo at 11am my time and not 12pm. I figured it was going to be up earlier than I expected (time zone conversions are hard). Scooped up The Goddess. Best of luck to everyone else. I feel like she’s going to move fast!
Got my order in. Just realized thats 3 motu figures on po now. Have a feeling they will announce another one before 1 of these ship. Finally received Poison Ivy yesterday. They need to change the po ratio.

I had her in my cart but didn't pull the trigger. I just can't justify the price of these things anymore. The last one I bought was She-Ra. I passed on Teela and Evil-Lyn so I figured not having the Goddess either won't hurt my feelings. These just aren't must haves anymore for me like they used to be...and yes the price of them now is exactly why.
They are sold out now but I got mine.

Depends when Man-E-Faces goes up for pre-order I guess? Honestly, I didn't think Evil-Lyn would be going up before him and here we are. Buzz-Off is supposed to ship in May of this year and if they don't have Man-E at WonderCon I don't think he'd be going up for pre-order in April.
Also crazy speculation on my part here, but.... I have a feeling we're getting a Castle Grayskull reveal. I watched a quick little IG showcase from Mondo and they revealed Nightcrawler 1/6 at the show and had something behind a curtain. They said it was the biggest item they've ever created before and it would be revealed on display after their panel. A 1/6 Swiftwind and the 1/12 200x line certainly wouldn't fit the bill of biggest item ever nor would a soft vinyl figure since they already make huge ones. Or maybe a Windraider? I don't know. I just have a feeling its MOTU related. Its not a full castle, I'm thinking it would just be the front of Grayskull with a moveable jaw-bridge. We'll see I guess.

When is the Mondo panel?
200X He-man looks about as tall as Classics He-man based on how he compares to Man-E-Faces. Assuming Man-E-Faces has the same size legs as Trap Jaw.
I really hope these will mesh well with Classics. Masterverse is slacking lately.
@admin It looks like the boots will use soft goods "fur" lining...

100%
I already posted this, but The Goddess will most likely be the last 1:6 Mondo MOTU I buy.
The price is unjustifiably high... just like their RGB line, these are completely taking advantage of the market through timed releases, tight windows, fear tactics, "exclusives," and preying on nostalgia. Funko acquiring Mondo was a stellar move for the company, but no so much for the fans.

Man e looks great, but if they put all the stuff with him that they showed in the “drawing” stage, thats just too much crap to be paying for and never using.
Man-E and 200x He-Man look stellar. The detailing on Man-E's armour and face sculpts is incredible. I do agree with @banthafett though. I don't need or want those extra's with Man-E.
@admin Here is a link to In Pursuit of Toys InstaGram. They've posted some photos from Mondo's panel. In it Mondo revealed the following:
1/6 Line
- Deluxe She-Ra
- Swift Wind
I did predict both of these previously. I'm not super happy about it. We don't need ANOTHER She-Ra and I certainly will not be buying Swift Wind. I'm not interested in POP and having the OG She-Ra is as far as I'll go. So I'll be saving myself some money on those two releases. Was really hoping for Stratos or something cooler
1/12 Line
- Skeletor Concept Art
- Clawful Concept Art
- Man At Arms Concept Art
Every single one of these figures looks incredible based on their concept art. If the He-Man sculpt is anything to go by this 200x line is going to be awesome. Also something to note. All three of the above figures seems to include a custom figure stand for the figures to be displayed on. I assume He-Man will get one as well, but no confirmation yet.
Also does anyone know if that big Mondo reveal I was talking about above was shown off? I can't see to find any photos of what was behind the curtain.
@ornclown quick thing to note regarding prices: It might not be Funko or Mondo setting the price. We have no idea how much Mattel charges to license the brand and how much they sell and make could also increase or decrease the cost of the figures due to the production runs. If you look at Tweeterhead ALL of their MOTU products have a higher price over their DC stuff. So its likely the demand for MOTU and the licensing costs of the brand driving prices up. Based on what Mondo said about RGB it seems that they really had to push to get the brand in the first place. Just something to consider.
