@grayskullguardsman any rumors of a Dragon Blaster Kelton coming out for Masterverse?

I haven’t heard that yet, but maybe we’ll get some cool reveals at SDCC.

Bro we gotta keep that name Kelton for Skeletor. Mr. Sir Kelton. That's a happy accident right there. 😂

Dragon Blaster Skeletor would be cool. Panthor would be cooler. We are waaaaaaaaaay overdue for that one.

Is there any real goal or direction for MV? For Origins, Mattel has specifically said they will release all the characters that we done in the vintage era, plus extras, but MV in contrast seems more random and even directionless. Should all the vintage characters be made in MV too? I haven't seen anyone really calling for that. What's the point of this line?

@durendal the line does seem to lack consistency. I think they need to do a theme for each wave, New Eternia, New Adventures, Vintage, Filmation. Maybe with He-Man or Skeletor only showing up twice a year.

My understanding is that the Masterverse line celebrates all aspects of MOTU. That's whey we have had figures from Revelation, Revolution, New Adventures, Princess of Power, the CGI series, Rules of the Sun, the movie, and New Eternia. That's also why I am surprised we haven't had Snakemen figures yet. I don't think the goal is to complete all figures from those lines (except maybe New Eternia), but just to highlight each one of those lines.

The goal of New Eternia should be to replace the Classics figures with affordable better versions.

Alternative options, yes.  Replace, no.

I think Masterverse should have sub-brandings for New Eternia, Cartoon Collection and "Vintage Collection" figures with Vintage Collection figures covering all previous MOTU toy lines. Also they need to start incorporating Build a Figures into the line rather than the occasional "deluxe" figure.

@smitty-81 Ouff, please no Build-a-figures… I dislike having to buy figures I may not want, in order to get another figure, sorry…

Or having useless parts I don’t need… If you’re not a completist, it’s so messy. I rather have another accessory.

With Origins, I guess you can mix and match, extra parts (I loved it with Mous Jaw), but, yeah, I hope they don’t do this, sorry 😬

@cosmic Yeah but a BaF makes good business sense. It get's people to but a full wave to get something like Molkrom. Also you do have the option to sell your unwanted parts and /or figures on eBay, Facebook and this forum.

@smitty-81 Yeah, good business for them, but some don’t like getting “forced” to buy things.

Me, I can’t go to the post office because disabled, which has prevented me from selling off stuff. 🤷

I get what you’re saying though, it’s just not for me. 😑

@cosmic you can seclude a pick up with the post office. All you have to do is pack it up and leave it at your door or where ever you pick and your mail carrier will grap it when they deliver your mail for the day.

Yep, it might be good business for them, but it's not practical at all for the collector who would want the entire build a figure but doesn't want the figures it requires to build it.  And I personally don't want the hassle of buying stuff I don't want just to turn around and have to resell it incomplete since I took out the BAF parts to try and get part of my money back.  The whole idea is just a pain in the butt to me.

@depp76 ok look I get it BaFs aren't for everyone but Hasbro has been doing it for years with their Marvel Legends and it's worked out for them. And selling the figures or parts is not much of a hassle. I did it not too long ago with some of my Age of Apocalypse X-Men. There are plenty of people that just want to build a figure parts but couldn't find the last figure. They needed. People that want just to figure and don't care about the build a figure and people that want to figure for customs. The market for loose figures is there.

@smitty-81 You don’t know the New York City Post Office. Trust me it’s hell. 😏 All of this does take effort to figure out, I won’t bore you with my particulars, I just rather not be forced to deal with second hand body-parts market.

Not every “Innovation” of Marvel Legends is great for everyone. Just look at thigh cuts.

Did that trigger you? Who wants Mattel’s goal to be providing alternative options? They should be going for the kill with the mindset that we need to be the best and beat Classics with every new figure.

I don't hate the thigh cuts like some do. Remember these are action figures not statues.  Most articulation points break up the sculpt and I can live with them. Except for peg joints. Peg joints can go to hell.

@kraken See, everyone has their dealbreakers. I actually didn’t mind the peg joints in Classics.

Unlike most “professional” action figure collectors, I generally favor sculpt over articulation. But I do appreciate the articulation of Masterverse, so I’ve come around.

MOTU has the unique challenge that the figures tend to be pretty “naked”, so the joints are very exposed looking.

As long as we don’t have more joints than muscle, I’m ok with it, I suppose. I learned to love the qualities of MV, including the great reach of the arms, and the much better poseability of the legs.

It’s probably the figures that have no boots that are the trickiest: Savage He-Man and Green Teela, you have not only the thigh cut, but also a calve cut (where the boot would be). The leg just looks cut up so much…

But yeah, the rest I’m mostly on board with.

Oh good grief no it seems like you are the one who was triggered by your snarky comment up there.  Anyways, yes I agree that the continued improvements of some of the Masterverse figures might surpass some of those in the Classics line...but Masterverse will never actually replace Classics no matter how you try to word it lol.
