@asterstar I'm dying to see someone get an in-hand copy of this figure set so we can finally see!
WANTED IN MASTERVERSE:
Masks of Power Demons, Prince Dakon, Kobolds, Demons (The Terror of Tri-Klops!), Lodar, New Eternia Ninjor, New Eternia Dragon Blaster Skeletor, Lizorr, Hoove, '87 Movie Man-At-Arms, '87 Movie Skeletor Trooper.
@asterstar Yeah, sadly I agree.

With the latest news of Mondo delving into 6" figures with Real Ghostbusters, how awesome would it be if they went ahead and did a new Masters of the Universe Classics line? I know it's a fantasy, but man, imagine those figures in 6" scale? Wow.

@abaddon Well considering Mattel has stubbornly refused to give the license back to Super7 to continue making Classics for 5 years now, I don't see why they would do so for Mondo. We can keep dreaming for a proper Classics return...
Damn. Is the licensing running out why Club Grayskull stopped? I thought it was because it wasn't selling.
@kraken It's to my understanding that Mattel pulled the license because they wanted to make their own in-house line (which turned out to be Origins and Masterverse).
@kraken Yes, that's the only reason. Super7 already had sculpts done for the next waves when Mattel pulled the license. They've tried to negotiate with Mattel periodically to re-acquire the rights but so far have been unsuccessful.
@kraken Because Mattel successfully managed to divide the fandom into various factions by releasing multiple different toylines in different styles, while occasionally giving vague false hopes out to Classics fans that we could possibly see more of them. It's a great strategy to keep latent outrage under a lid. Hell, I was one of the biggest Classics cheerleaders who for years tried to advocate for a resumption of the line, or at the very least let Super7 continue to make deep cut Z-listers (after all, if Hasbro can do that with GI Joe, why can't Mattel with MOTU??), but they've managed to even subdue me slowly over time with their Chinese water torture approach. It's a shame really, but Classics obviously isn't coming back in the form we knew it.
@durendal Damn you're describing one helluva elaborate scheme. I don't think I can give Mattel that much credit.
@durendal Damn. Guess I'll keep dreaming ... 😭

Well, well, well ... it's the Classics mold for the Hover Bot that comes with the Origins Horde Trooper Prime figure! Classics is BACK, baby (kinda, not really)! 🤣 🤣 Screenshot taken from this youtube vid:

I figured it was. Why bother paying for a new mold when the Classics one is already there?
I wonder how long they actually hold on to those things...it's been years since Mattel made MOTUC. And they stopped making it, gave up on the brand, and Super7 took over! Yet they still exist??
I wonder if the Origins cartoon collection will bring down the aftermarket prices on some of the Super7 CG Filmation figures.
I remember when Super7 made their Ultimates re-releases, they mentioned that there was deterioration in the molds and they had to have a few new parts made. I'm honestly not sure what the procedure is for keeping old molds around.
Well Mattel just re-used the Classics mold for the Hover Robots in Origins, and that's 10 years old now. I'm very surprised that they still have any of those molds still lying around somewhere...
They could have re-done the hover bots based on the existing figures, not the molds. Made new molds, but at least they didn’t have to design them 🤷♂️ And they fit in perfectly with the Classics bots.
As there were no news about NA in Masterverse during SDCC ‘24, I’ve been itching to get something NA in other ways.
Got a Classics Optikk for just over $30! I bid on it just for kicks, didn’t think my starting bid would remain the only one. Got lucky! I love his color, this metallic brownish/ dark-bronze.
His legs are kind of loose, but otherwise he’s in great condition and complete.
(Also got a vintage Spinwit with all accessories for $50, which is a steal. Still waiting for a 6” remastered Spinwit… Hey perhaps that new 1:12 Mondo line will do NA at some point, if Mattel doesn’t want to!)
I still don't have Optikk but he is cool. I remember when the NA Classics would sell for 15$ cuz nobody really wanted them. Randor too!
@disneyboy Nothing has changed with Crita. You can buy a NRFB Crita for $35. She's nostalgia proof and inflation proof.
“… Demo-Man has been made as a figure before, but not by Mattel – until now. Our version pays tribute to comics and concept art for the character. …”
Interesting side note on the Mattel Creations Demo Man order page !
