This week Mattel announced they were combining their film and television divisions to form a brand new studio: MATTEL STUDIOS.

The goal of this new studio is to produce quality entertainment based on their iconic toy brands.

The MATTEL STUDIOS President will be Robbie Brenner, the previous “Mattel Films” President who joined the company back in 2018 and had unprecedented success with the 2023 feature film “Barbie“.

New movies that will be featured under the new MATTEL STUDIOS banner is “Masters of the Universe” starring actor Nicholas Galitzine…

and “Matchbox” starring actor John Cena, both currently filming (with an expected release in 2026.)

Future movies in the MATTEL STUDIOS’ pipeline are “Bob the Builder” and “Poly Pocket” movies, as well as a “Monster High” Live-Action Film (that had just signed ‘M3GAN’ Director Gerard Johnstone to direct.)

Will Mattel Studios be a success for the iconic toy company? Only time will tell.
We’ll see you next time.
Still waiting on the Hasbro cinematic universe.
I remember that! Hasbro was supposed to make movies like Mask and Rom and connect them all together. Whatever happened to that?
Tell me about it. I wish Mattel had mixable franchises like Hasbro that could mash with MOTU.
Yet another example that rich people are not smart. A company that cant figure out how to put 2 characters that they own in the same cartoon is going to transform a toy company to a movie studio. We sit here trying to figure out how to eat while these wealth zombies piss away billions in absolutely idiotic investments like this. This is why our species cant have a wealth class. We are too inherently greedy.
This is a good thing for Masters of the Universe! This means to me that Mattel is committed to making quality movies and shows and there will always be toys to go with it!
Maybe this is why they have yet to announce anymore Cartoon seasons for Revolution….hopefully they were waiting on this!
@cringerluvr May heaven hear you, mate! Anyway, a big yes to this! We need more (quality) Motu content!
YOU ARE A TOY COMPANY!
I legit thought they already had a studio formed under Mattel films who made Barbie.
On a side note there is out of the properties named in the article for upcoming film adaptations there is one really major Mattel IP not named among the others that I’m assuming has been in development hell because there’s been no news on it since 2020 and it’s surprising because it’s one of their biggest names.
One with decades of history and extremely close to my heart. One that if done right could be a great family film.
Also no Mattel Cinematic Universe please.
I’m in. Just keep the MOTU content coming.
