And who is playing She-Ra

Netflix is the home of Masters of the Universe. That they passed on this suggests that the pitch is not very good. Amazon is desperate for franchise properties, which explains why they were willing to pick it up. I do not have high hopes for it, if it ever gets greenlit.
They hired this person to direct.

That is interesting! You are saying Netflix passed on the project first? I haven't heard that or considered that possibility before. Did you happen to read that somewhere?

That is news to me

Not everyone liked that version but I LOVED IT! I have nothing bad to say about Revelations. I grey up with He-Man during the 80's and I still really enjoyed this version. It's sad people have to scream "It's horrible, I hate it! No way am I going to watch it!" The universe is MAST. Constantly changing and so are the stories. I have not even seen ONE king Arthur movie come out that I could compair to the book, or Excalibur. I would scream and rant everytime they came out with a movie that was far from accurate from "Le-Morte-D'Arthur". But I came to find out, since the growth of the internet, that Sir Thomas Malory wasn't the origional tale teller but some prisoner who probably had access to the books, It was a rare thing for someone to read and write at that time so I'm sure he probably had some library access that perhaps he was put to work to make copies of books as that was the only way of producing multiple books at that time. So he could have drifted from the origional story. I believe I have even heard lately that King Arthur may not have even been in englund at the time.
While I am always happy when someone makes a mvoie or tv show as close to the book as possible, I'm there to give high praise. But I've opened up a new mind set and try to see things from a stroy tellers stand point. I think everyone has their vversion they are only going to be happy with and can't accept anything that drifts from what we have rooted in our hearts. As my brother said when I told him that Female Ghost Buster movie was so bad I couldn't even watch advertisments, his reply was "HEY, I'm happy with it because it ended up bringing new Ghost Buster merchandise I can buy". I'm sure not everyone is a fan of the CGI poop that I can't stand. A story is one thing, the look can kill a show for me though. I did however give the CGI a try just to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything and it just felt like the main audience was for kids to teens. The characters all seem to have drank from the fountain of youth or something cause they sure all feel like teens in that show to me.
Met Kevin Smith last year and hadn't even watched Revelations till just a couple months ago. Man I probably would have hit the guy up for every Master of the Universe hints I could get and I really hope to see more of the show. With it seeming to be turning toward Hord Prime based on the small hint at the end, I'm not even against miss She Ra joining the group. The show is called "Masters of the Universe" I believe, not He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Have so many only believed that there is only one Master of the Universe?
OOOo! Last thing! Lets not forget that in the beginning, He-Man was planned to be pitted against Superman but that story changed. And then changed again to have it actually happen. And honestly, I was really happy to see someone other then his usual villain put that Kripton to bed!
Hail Skeletor!
He has the true power...
@bricrue Wrong topic. This is a She-Ra thread.

I was reading Mr. Prince Adams post and meant to reply to him in agreemant that things could be turning to a combined "She-Ra" and "He-Man" netflix combination. Sorry if your hurt I replied to this topic, as I was fully aware that it's about "SHE-RA" being under the impression that's where things are heading these days. I believe they already have a CGI "She-Ra" and "He-Man" show going on. I don't see why the universe HAS to be divided.
I'll leave your beloved "She-Ra" forum to you and not contribute anymore to avoid you becoming upset about it.
I don't think this was an issue of Netflix passing. She-Ra was sold off years ago and the property is completely separate from Masters. Mattel only has the rights to the actual figures from the classic POP line. I wish Amazon the best of luck, anything that keeps new media coming will keep the fandom energized and growing. How many people are here today because they discovered the vintage lines from exposure to the 2018 Netflix show or the MOTU content currently being made by Netflix?

I am not really buying that, I suspect it was a more silly reason such as them refusing to have LGBTQ+ representation or something. If they flat out was like NO Catradora this time I suspect that is a possible reason, never underestimate corporate to mess it up.
Now it could be a awful show and they pick to have it take place on Earth or something like that but until we see a trailer I would not just assume it is bad because Netflix did not want it. 😂
Masterverse wishlist:
Catra 2018 (season 4)
He-Man 2002 (Snake Armor)
King Hissssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss 2002
She-Ra 2018 (season 5)
Skeletor 2002

I am not at liberty to disclose the source, or the of the details of the pitch. Needless to say, it is not a series that anyone would want.

Interesting! That bad? Bullet dodged perhaps then, like the Cannon Films sequel devloped for the 1987 Masters of the Universe film. 😃

Since the studio is Amazon and the director is Nicole Kassell, people are presuming the pitch is like Game of Thrones, when it is actually like Riverdale.

Was most of the narrative set on Earth?

I cannot share any details, but it is astute of you to ask that question.
