I’m excited to see the Horde. I’m hoping they are going to live up to the name the Evil Horde. I’d like to see complete carnage. We have never seen a truly Evil Horde onscreen before. I think we nearly saw it in the 200x series but unfortunately it got canned before it could happen. I really want them to change the face of eternia in the way they did in the DC comics and become a real threat. Also hoping they extend the run from 5 episodes to 10.

I'm really personally believing we're getting 10 episodes, but the back 5 will be it's own thing. Masters of the Universe: Redemption or something of that nature. That's my hunch at least.
I do definitely think the Horde will change the face of Eternia though, based on the teaser poster!🙂

Glad they're keeping the whole thing with Skeletor's forces being mostly about magic, while the Horde is almost entirely about advanced technology (as it was for both the toyline comics and the original TV series). I'm assuming that stuff Motherboard is excreting is nano-machine clusters.
I know everyone's curious about She-Ra's status. If the concept art for season 4 of the CGI series is any indication, sounds like Mattel and Dreamworks might be in negotiations.

If Sony and Marvel can (sort of) come to an agreement, I'm sure Mattel and Dreamworks can work something out.

I hear there are still issues dividing them unfortunately, at least when it comes to She-Ra impacting Revolution in any way.
I believe Despara was a comic creation and therefore usable by Mattel though. Perhaps they were planning to put Lyn in the role in the CG show. 🤔

Makes sense. Hordak did say he wanted Lyn as "his equal". Making her his chief enforcer (and therefore automatically above his other minions) would be a step toward that.
Either that, or "Despara" is just a placeholder until they figure it out (one way or another).

Say Despara was supposed to be Lyn, but the CG series is in fact done, perhaps continuing this story in another medium like comics would allow them to switch and use She-Ra where they couldn't have before... basically a negative producing a positive. 🙂

Tim said they could use She-Ra in the comics so there we go.

@he-dad that answers that.
Back to the topic at hand, wonder what sort of characterization they're going to give Hordak?
The comics characterized him as an elder god, with the Fright Zone being an extension of himself that constantly spread:

Yes, the whole "feeding on fear" aspect is Scareglow's thing in this series. However, given Motherboard's ability to convert organic beings into cyborgs / techno-organic creatures, I could see Hordak having the ability to corrupt the land itself in a similar fashion. Therefore, I could see him having some things in common with, say, the Borg from Star Trek. You know, the whole "I will assimilate all" mentality.
What do you think?

@admin That sort of hurts the story line for me I guess. Despra was raised by Shadow Weaver and Hordak and I didn't see anything in the other shows to indicate that Skeletor was out looking for multiple children to raise again their parents?
Evil-Lyn did not say anything about being found and raised by Shadow Weaver or Hordak in the Revelations series so it would feel to me like it would fall into a lot of laziness giving someone elses background toward someone else. But thats one thing I've had a hard time with when it comes to Masters of the Universe characters. Not sure how deep they go in the comics. I'm still reading through the mini comics first and then will start reading from the 80's on up to see if I get any more background on other characters other then the mighty He-Man.
What is the deal with She-Ra though. Is her characters owned by someone else? Just stinks when that happens cause I think it really would be interesting to throw some She-Ra mix in this Masters of the Universe.

Resistance is futile.
A Borg inspiration? I just love it!
And we do sort of have our Borg Queen already, i.e. Motherboard, characters that both give off a similar vibe! 😮

Here is the story behind She-Ra's ownership:

Interesting on the whole animated she-ra thing. I guess it comes from a time when companies sold off or licensed stuff without really thinking about the consequences. Much like the whole marvel comics selling their characters off to various companies and now causing themselves headaches when it comes to spidey and the hulk and such like.
Well it is more a issue of who made what, Filmation and the girls toy division at Mattel both argued they made all the characters. At the end of the day Mattel keept the exclusive right to toys while Filmation keept the animation rights. Then Filmation was bought by some TV company to get Filmation cartoons on their channel and later that was bought by NBC Universal, funny thing NBC Universal also bought Jetlag at some point and also gained New Adventures of He-Man which is why Mara appears in Netflix She-ra! So Dreamworks owns the trio of 80s now and Mattel cannot really do much about it...Interesting on the whole animated she-ra thing. You think with a little time, meetings, and story work both sides could benifit from combining the two. However I can see a bit of Corperate greed trying to hold onto them being seperate in order to have more control over where that money is going or how it's being invested to get the biggest return. I just think that as of right now I'd feel they would benifit more off combining the two but like "Spider-Man", "Fantastic Four" ect... Some company owns the rights so whatever bible was written for the two means the two characters won't be seeing eachother any time soon?
Well the complications here is that Netflix She-Ra and MOTU:Re has conflicting background stories, in She-ra the evil Horde won the first war! Showrunner for She-ra said their team was willing to do a crossover and that they could work with other animation styles, that is a good sign yet there is the corporate issue! Will their bosses allow them to? I suspect that Mattel will not say yes unless they get 80s She-Ra and DreamWorks will possibly not say yes unless they get to use the new one? I hate to say it but we might be stuck there. You think with a little time, meetings, and story work both sides could benifit from combining the two. @costume-n00b I really think they should do a compromise tough, what if they used DreamWorks voice actors with either of these options?
1. They use the new ones in 80s outfits but they are alternate reality versions still lore wise?
2. They use the old one in the new outfits but are once again sticking to the Reveleation lore?
3. The She-Ra is from a alternate reality and came trough a portal from another universe? (this would probably be easiest to pull of but one I bet Mattel would be least pleased with?)

@catra The problem is always money and not wanting other companies to have a piece of that pie.
