Camila Mendes and Alison Brie will be ready. Will you? 👊 “Masters of the Universe” is coming to cinemas worldwide on June 5th, 2026.
We have the Power!
@caliban It's hot. It'd be nice if this movie has at least some sex appeal, though that seems to be taboo these days...
If you've had enough of He-Man, Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, Teela, Man-At-Arms variants in Masterverse now, wait until this movie comes out! 😆
WANTED IN MASTERVERSE:
Masks of Power Demons, Prince Dakon, Kobolds, Demons (The Terror of Tri-Klops!), Lodar, New Eternia Ninjor, New Eternia Dragon Blaster Skeletor, Lizorr, Hoove, '87 Movie Man-At-Arms, '87 Movie Skeletor Trooper.
Oh, I'd put money on it. 😏 I'll enjoy 'New Eternia' while I can before they flood Masterverse with the inevitable movie waves.@abaddon great I didn’t even think of this. Probably another random subline.

From Hollywood Reporter:
The list of villains cast for Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films’ live action take on Masters of the Universe now includes Jared Leto, Sam C. Wilson, Hafthor Bjornsson and Kojo Attah.
Leto will play Skeletor, Wilson is to fill the role of Trap Jaw, Bjornsson will play Goat Man and Attah nabbed the role of Tri-Klops. They join Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Skeletor’s second-in-command.
Previously announced hero roles include Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, Camila Mendes as Teela and Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms.
They should get William Shatner into the live action movie. King Miro??
Okay, I am gone for a few months traveling and moving my butt across Canada. My twin brother sends me a link to the article you guys posted about Skeleton and his minions cast.
GOATMAN BABY!. I never thought in a million eons I would ever live to See Goatman make it to live action adaptation.
I honestly don't even care about Leto at this point anymore.
But holy Zoar this is amazing news about Goatman especially being played by the Mountain himself.
And Idris Elba as Duncan?! Amazing!
He did not get that big in three months from eating 4,000 calories a day and lifting alone.
Here is a new article but I think it is AI junk.

Deadline is reporting that Morena Baccarin has been cast as Sorceress and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson has been cast as Fisto.
I wonder if any brand new characters will be created for the film similarly to the 1987 one (Karg, Saurod, Blade, and Gwildor). I always thought that was totally random and bizarre.
I know a lot of people are dismissing this because it's not Filmation canon but I am glad it's not sticking to hard to that version. Id rather have 3 dimensional characters, real stakes and some great action. I dont want a bunch of 1 note, infallable do-gooders vs a mildly mischievous Skeletor and his brigade of buffoons. I don't want to see He-man win by throwing Beastman into a mud puddle or capturing Skeletor in a bubble. Filmation deviated from the previous lore as this is deviating from what has come before. Admittedly I hope the time on Earth is minimal and we get to see a fully developed Eternia and the character designs are faithful to the vintage toyline...not neccessarily recreations but that they retain the spirit of the originals. I will go in with an open mind and just hope it's good...or even better, amazing!
Oh and Stratos, please!
@froginsox When we take our enlarged nostalgia goggles off, Filmation was for babies, so yes, let's not repeat that dumbed down nonsense.
And yes to Stratos! I'd like to see at least the original 8-back characters represented in this film. We're pretty close - only need Stratos, Zodac and Mer Man still to make that happen.
At this point, I've given up all hope on the feasibility of this project, not to mention the potential quality of the script. All I'm asking for is the minimum success required to make the brand viable again. Maybe not on par with a Transformer movie (though it definitely has the potential to do so if handled the right way, imho), but you get the idea...

I think in general modern MOTU has had a 'ceiling' for some time and we all have to be prepared to hit it here too. The brand is very much viewed by the mainstream as having had one real success story 40 odd years ago and it's that magic they're always going to try and recapture.
@zarius I don't mind if they lean into some Filmation tropes - it would be funny and make original fans happy. The 1987 movie made the fatal mistake of NOT doing that.
Brightening the first official promotional image from the upcoming "Masters of the Universe" Movie to examine the detail, the costume for HE-MAN feels somewhat inspired by the first Mondo He-Man figure. (Thanks to @ornclown for first making this connection!)
