What are your favorite Thanksgiving traditions?
Mine is after we eat we all get together at the table and play board games like Monopoly and UNO. My dad tries to cheat but it is so obvious and so much fun. ☺️
Going to the dark hemisphere and egg snake mountain.
In all seriousness, I celebrate alone and buy a Stouffers veggie Lasagna and maybe make garlic bread or stuffing. Ah such great times!
After our families leave we’ll always put on home alone and start Christmas decorating. Everyone starts out helping then little by little wife and kids stop helping me
Ever since my parents passed away the family gets together at my sister's house every year. It's always a lot of work for her, so I appreciate her so much.🙂
We have the Power!
We always host; never travel. It's a Thanksgiving tradition for us. Kim goes all out and I'm her sous chef. It's one of the ways we express thanks for our many blessings in life. The tradition extends to the day after Thanksgiving when I flip the switch and the exterior lights come on. Then we all spend hours watching our beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers play, decorating our trees and every inch of the house as Irish coffee, Guinness and spiked eggnog with nutmeg flows, fireplaces blazing throughout our home. When the Nebraska football game ends, the Christmas music begins and half a dozen hot pies with peppermint stick ice cream come out!
My Dad comes to our house (Mom passed away a few years ago) and my Father-in-Law comes over now since he's on his own (messy divorce a couple of years ago). So, it's my wife, daughter, and I and our two dads (not from the 80s TV show, though). We typically eat our Thanksgiving meal around noon so we can squeeze in another round later in the evening. Sometimes we play games or put on a movie (I may or may not try to sneak in a nap while it's on, lol).
