WAVE 9

 

Thoughts:

Trying to fit a Ruler of the Sun, He-Man, Skeletor and a member of the Horde was a bit too much for this mini comic's 6 pages. Mantenna is only there to push his toy and it shows as there's no real reason he would have been in that cave with Pig-Head.

WAVE 10

Thoughts:

I like seeing Randor join in the fight. I think Man-at-Arms is having too much fun , just look at that smile.

 

But what are you thoughts?

 

I liked it. Thanks for posting it bro. My only problem was the coloring. Trap Jaw's jaw changed colors from panel to panel and it kept taking me out of the story. Where is a comic editor when you need one! {he-man}:laugh:

That depends on the character.

Well, you were kind of good. So you get one CC mini comic and one RoS mini comic.

Cartoon Collection Wave 1

• It's basically the episode "The Masks of Power" but with Beastman instead of Aran and Oona.
• I like the inclusion of a lesson at the end it really brings home the Filmation vibe they seem to be going for.

Deluxe Wave 5

• They just droop us right in the middle of the story, this will become common in the Snakeman mini comics.
• Then the story progresses very fast making somewhat hard to keep up.
• It's nice to see Mekaneck and the Road Ripper.

Space Sumo

• I like that they stuck with the original figure, but at the same time it makes him pointless in the over all world of MOTU.

Cartoon Collection Wave 2

• So i assume that the CC wave 1 mini comic didn't happen.
• I do like the over all Filmation vibe they are keeping.

WAVE 11

Thoughts

• Once again we get dropped into the action with no explanation.
• It's nice to see Battle Cat.

Wave 12

Thoughts

• YET again we start in the middle...
• It was nice of the Snakemen to throw Skeletor a birthday party.

Wave 13

Thoughts...

• Including "Young" Randor in this wave really seemed to mess with the writer
• The time travel element is confusing and pointless
• The story jumps around and then just ends abruptly

Frog Monger!

Thoughts...

• Even with ten pages to work with the story still seems a bit rushed, but nearly as bad as some of the previous mini comics
• The inclusion of King Hiss seems pointless but doesn't hurt the story too much
• I think it's one of the better Rise of the Snakemen mini comics

But you don't have to take my word for it.

HE-SKELETOR

Thoughts:

• I like the lizard He-Man at the beginning
• The cosmic multiversal stakes make this one a bit more exciting
• The two page spared is epic and funny

DELUXE WAVE 6

Thoughts:

• Dragon Blaster is completely useless in his own mini comic
• Suddenly Cosmic He-Man?
• Suddenly no Cosmic He-Man?

DUPLICO

Thoughts:

• With just six pages they do a lot to establish Duplico's powers and character
• Having the story focus on Duplico makes the random Snakemen hijinks seem less random

GRIZZLOR

Thoughts:

• They gave this writer ten pages then left him alone
• This story is pretty scary
• Some interesting stuff going with the lore, making it seem like Adora wasn't kidnapped until she was older

I don't know that Adora wasn't kidnapped until later so much as there were some shenanigans with her memories as part of the trial.

Last panel of the story. Hordak says "You cleared the trial, Adora. Truly you are worthy of being the daughter of Hordak."

So, clearly the entire story is some test for Adora; one that she passed. This could take place at any point, but certainly she has had some sort of training by this point.

@andy_wan_kenobi l should re-read these as I post them. This must be some kind of test to become a force captain. Hordak probably pampered Adora when she was growing up so she would think the Horde was good.

• Not every story needs a random McGuffin
• These Snakemen stories have been so nonsensical, thankfully there aren't many left
