The first time we saw the Masters of the Universe: Origins Terroar action figure, (like Lord Gr’Asp) it was revealed during Mattel’s “Skelebration” back in early October 2023.
Among Mattel’s newly announced Spring 2024 catalog, Terroar was marked as one of the Walmart retailer exclusives (that we reported on HERE). And now, thanks again to our awesome community member @smitty-81 and friend to the site Michael at ToyHabits.com, Michael discovered official images for the upcoming figure. Check them out:
Hopefully Walmart’s official listing for the Masters of the Universe: Origins Terroar Retailer Exclusive figure will be available pubically soon. We’ll see you next time!
What a fusion of parts.
@longtooth I think this was designed at the datk time when MOTU had no more tooling resources.
@asterstar it was. All of the “lost wave" figure were. But Terroar and Lord Gr’Asp were a bit more out there than Slamurai and Snake Horde Trooper .
I don’t know about this one, I’m kinda over the Snake Men besides Lord Gr’Asp (really dig his design). I didn’t even pick up the 4 pack which had the awesome Rattle Hood because the accompanying figures were so mid. We know there are more Snake Men coming as well as the Snake Lair. This will probably be a pass until FOMO sets in!
@mrhootiedean I kinda fell like they really overdid the whole Snakemen thing. All these Hero-variants with Snakeskin painted on, I could have lived without. Actually, I do, because I skipped them 😀 So more of that, well…meh. But it’s nice that they are exploring some of those obscure concepts. I just hope this won’t count as a regular Vintage Origins release on MC – the way they are doing it is annoying enough, I don’t them to make the gap between desireable figures even bigger 😛
@lasastard @mrhootiedean
You both are speaking my language. Mattel is overplaying their hand with these Snake Men. Interest was lost when 200X did it and the same is happening here. I’ll probably pass on the Snake Lair if it’s overpriced for what it is like Eternia. A little Snake Men is fine but
@kraken I’m curious as to everyone’s ceiling for the snake lair. Mine is prob $250
Unless it’s just spectacular then probably $100. The Snake Men need a home (now that there’s so many of them with more to come) but after Eternia, I don’t have the space. But if the Doom Tower had won, I would find the space and funds!
You’d think Mattel would have learned their lesson with the Snake Men.
@lasastard wow you skipped one figure… also we’ve know for about a year that Terroar, Lord Gr’Asp and Necro-Conda are going to be Walmart exclusives.
Well, technically that would be “Snake Armor He-man, Snake Armor Skeletor, Snake-thingy Teela, Serpent Man-at-arms, the Snakemen 4-pack, Eternian Guard Infiltrator". Those just didn’t “do" anything for me and felt kinda tacked on, but that’s obviously my “problem" for not having watched much of the 200X cartoon.
Good news about Terroar making it to retail, that one kinda slipped by me it seems. He does look interesting enough, so who knows, might pick him up.
@lasastard Snake Teela was the only one with “snake skin" the rest you named only hade new armor, other than the name there’s nothing really snake like about them.
Yeah that sounds about right, but I’d like some pretty cool tiers for that as well. Here’s hoping they fix MC for International buyers before the next release there though!
What a “mix"! 4 figures into 1! I’m almost curious to buy it!
I promise to be more precise in the future ^^
“Snake-themed character variants that were not part of the vintage line but either taken from 200X or pulled out of thin air" (the last bit is just there to mask my ignorance regarding what was or wasnt part of 200x)
