I remember when YouTube was exciting and full of new talent. Now it's just full of shit.

Yup... just the amount of garbage that occupies the YouTube homepage is enough to rot your brain - without ever watching a single video.

It appalls me that this is the type of trash that a majority of viewers actually watch.

One algorithm is to blame. Catra Wink

Well I introduced my 6yo nephew and 4yo niece to revolution while I was babysitting tonight and they enjoyed it a lot. Although I kinda regret it because I now have a fat lip and a set of very sore knuckles after being attacked by ‘he-man’ and ‘teela’ because I was the evil Skeletor. That’s what you get for allowing little kids who have no idea how to pull their ‘punch’ access to plastic swords, ah well we still had a good time and they sat through all 5 episodes.

Finally got other life things out of the way so I could sit down and binge it. I don't have much to add to this great discussion as I'm not as versed in the comics as many of you all and the rest of what I'd say is redundant.  But I enjoyed Revelation and at the risk of recency bias I think I enjoyed Revolution even more. I like where took the characters and am interested to see if we get to learn more about them. I'd definitely watch more episodes--whether that be a continuation of the events on Eternia, Cosmic Enforcer adventures, etc.

@larock hey man, nothing is redundant and you don’t have to be a font of knowledge for all things MotU to have an opinion. The great thing about new cartoons and media are new fans! And hey it’s great to learn new things.

@dan1980 Much appreciated! I am impressed at the deep dives some of the MOTU fans take with new media. I learn a little bit each time and appreciate their knowledge. Looking forward to a rewatch soon to digest the series a bit more. I'm glad to see positive and respectful opinions here regardless of how anyone felt about the show.

The feelings are reciprocal... I have been a He-Fan for 30+ years, and in that time I've met diehards, disdained ones, and a mix of both.

However, I am always most interested in what new fans have to say... what you all think of MOTU as a property - because you were not indoctrinated like I was, it becomes much more fascinating to hear about MOTU from a fresh perspective and not from one who is looking through rose-tinted glasses or scorn.

@ornclown I should clarify...I'm not as versed in the comics but I have been a MOTU fan since its inception. Grew up on the Filmation series, aged out as the original line drew to a close. My next true connection was discovering online resources in the mid 90s, and then the 200X relaunch of figures and MYP cartoons. So I am familiar with the line and many characters but not to the extent as many of you all here. Like I had NO clue who the character was at the end of this series, so I was excited to hear theories of who might be behind the Despara mask and where that might lead. Wasn't sure if there ever was a Gwildor/Orko team up like I saw in this season.

Was there ever a "technology vs magic" plot in the comics or any other media? Or was this something new that Kevin Smith and company came up with? I like that story angle, as well as Preternia/the 3 (4?) towers/and many other storylines from this series.  If they are all new ideas that's cool! If they are existing ideas that came from comics, She-Ra, NA, or something else I love catching up by reading what you all share here.

It's just great to have a positive spot to talk MOTU, especially when new things come down the pipeline.

I do remember She-Ra and the Princesses of Power often had technology vs magic in the earlier parts of the show, but the lines blurred as it went on...
