The Problem with Power is probably my favorite.  The ones that made BCI's Top 10 list DVD years ago probably are the best.  I do like the House of Shokoti 2 parter a lot as well.  I wished they had more two parters.  Most of G.I. Joe's best episodes were two parters, so it would have been nice to see what the writers could have done with more time on He-Man.

@firefly More two parters would have been amazing.

This is a random question. Except for two parters and stuff like that when did cartoons start sequential stories. What was the first cartoon that didn't reset after every episode? Anybody know?

It certainly wasn't very common until recent decades, but I suppose you could maybe say Rocky & Bullwinkle?  I think the first cartoon I noticed it heavily in more recent times was The Pirates of Dark Water in the US in 1990.  I'm sure there are anime shows that did it sooner.

The Problem with Power is perfect. I tear all up when I watch Adam throw the sword.

Teela's Quest is a classic, for sure, and I love that Merman is a more serious threat in the episode.

Origin of the Sorceress is terrific, giving some much-needed background to a supporting character who could otherwise seem dull if you didn't consider her sacrifice.

Evilseed is a favorite too. Creepy introduction to a one-off villain who actually dies on screen? Neat.

Into The Abyss is quite special as well.

The Diamond Ray of Disappearance is a pretty solid intro episode for the series, so I like it in that way.

...I'm basically just naming the ones on the Top Ten DVD from BCI, aren't I? LOL Well they were all good. Although I think the Dragon trilogy episodes were good too, though I forget their names. And the Shokoti two-parter.

I love that aspect too! It is why I am big fan of "City Beneath the Sea" because Mer-Man was the main and only villian in that episode. Plus I really liked the disappearing ship mystery. 🙂

"The Witch and the Warrior"

And there is a stoy behind it why:

Like a lot of parents also mine had their fair share of prejudice towards MotU. For some reason (involving getting Origin toys for the kids) Mom could not resist digging out one of her ol' MotU bashing snarky remarks. After some initial eye rolling I countered with a "Hey, you know what. Thats an awesome topic to talk about next time I visit. You might wanna check out these though" and sended here said episode and the Power of Grayskull documentrary as kind of a mic drop retort. Much to my mind blowing surprise she did watched both and seemed to be a bit embarassed about how she perceived MotU for all these years when we talked about it later. 😎

So yeah... while there are a lot of great episodes and some I might even like more for one reason or another; this rules them all for that reason alone in my book. Although in hindsight I'm sure "The Rainbow Warrior" would had done an even greater job... Hmm... but now that I'm writing it maybe its something to watch with her next time I visit. 🙂

I loved your story, and your Mom sounds awesome! I do not believe either of my parents would have ever done that, rest their souls, so your Mom is A+ in my book!

And nice choice! "The Witch and the Warrior" is a terrific episode. (I actually prefer "The Rainbow Warrior" but you really can't go wrong with either.) 🙂
