Listen, I'm blessed to be married to a drop dead gorgeous red-haired, blue-eyed Irish angel who's a University of Nebraska graduate, is a rabid college football and Chiefs fan and thinks Guinness is mother's milk.  So it's not an issue for me. 🙂

Our daughter, 4.10-GPA-for-three-and-a-half-straight-years-Zoe, returns from college this Thursday and my life will be complete, with all our family gathered through New Year's.

Our daughter will be in middle school next year, but I can feel the "leave for college" knocking on the door.... 😪

Breaks your heart.  Hold tight to every single moment.  When you have children the days are long but the years go by fast.  The very best you can do is put in fifteen hard years of work and then pray they have strong wings to fly with.  Between our hard work and the Grace of God, our daughter does...  🙂

@theman You're not kidding!  We pray every day that she'll continue to follow the Lord.

Our Zoe arrives home from college for Christmas break tomorrow, so we are stacked up with waiting Christmas movies that include A Christmas Carol (we alternate versions every year) Miracle on 34th Street, Elf, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Polar Express, Christmas Vacation with an ample sampling of new Hallmark Channel Christmas movies sprinkled in.  

Eggnog, Christmas cookies, fireplaces and oh-so-many candles are awaiting.  🙂

I recently watched a couple of new Hallmark Christmas movies, one with lovely and talented Alicia Witt (Not Ready For Christmas) and one with incredibly gorgeous Luke MacFarlane & Nikki De Loach (Christmas Land). There were a couple of scenes with a surprise guest star in the latter film, lovely and talented Cynthia Gibb - she had starred in Gypsy (with Bette Midler) many years ago. 😀

That is what we husbands like to tell ourselves isn't it.

Took the family to Chicago today for Christkindlmarket -- an annual Olesker Christmas Family Tradition. Amazing as always. Wonderful crowd, everyone in the spirit of the holidays, Christmas music playing all day long, so many people wishing strangers a Merry Christmas along with big smiles.  

We all had great German brats with sauerkraut, potato pancakes and tons of macarons and croissants. Brought lots of goodies home. Click on 'Chicago' to check it out: https://www.christkindlmarket.com

Afterwards we picked up two famous Lou Malnati's large deep dish Chicago pizzas to take back home to the country. Kim''s got them baking now and I'm opening bottles of wine.

All in all, a great day. 🙂
