Hi guys, to celebrate Netflix beginning promotions with Masters of the Universe: Revolution with its big Drop 1 Presentation today, I decide to whip up this little Fan-Made Timeline based on all projects both comics and animated based on Revelation/Revolution's timeline. Now most of these dates could end up being changed if Netflix or Mattel ever puts out an official one, but hopefully it'll give people an idea on when and where different chapters of the overall story occur. P.S: MOTU: The Secrets of Grayskull was the first Comic Mini-Series that was released during the course of Revelation, for anyone that's confused.
Key Terms:
BTGB: Before the Great Battle (The Events that occur before and during of MOTU: Revelation: Episode One)
ATGB: After the Great Battle (The Events that occur after MOTU: Revelation Episode One and Beyond.)
P.S: Why did I choose the term, The Great Battle? Answer: It's been referenced enough times throughout the course of Revelation, as well as the Final Battle, but I didn't think the Final Battle really fit in this juncture. More like the Beginning of the End, know what I mean? Anyway, I hope you all enjoy it, and tell me what you think.
This is very nice but I wonder no Filmation?
@talonfighter Honestly, it's open for debate whether Revelation is canon to Filmation or not among the fan base, so for argument's sake I left it out. Some consider it canon, some don't and consider it its own continuity. Either way I was trying to avoid any debates or arguments. If you consider Revelation canon to Filmation, more power to you.
If we consider them two seperate universes, I think we can at least theorize that the events in the Revelation timeline played out more or less the same as the Filmation universe (at least up until that battle that left Adam dead).

@costume-n00b well Roboto has his 2002 origin, Orko backstory is altered to him not being good at using magic at home.
So there are minor changes but none that would alter the timeline to much...
So yep the timeline is about 99% same!
Masterverse wishlist:
Catra 2018 (season 4)
He-Man 2002 (Snake Armor)
King Hissssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss 2002
She-Ra 2018 (season 5)
Skeletor 2002
So to me there is 2 prime timelines
- Universal/Dreamworks/Filmation/Jetlag timeline: He-Man 1983 > She-Ra 1985 > New Adventures of He-Man (yes the 80s movies are in this timeline)
- The Mattel timeline which features the Dark Horse comics > 1983 show with slight changes to not get sued > Revelation > Revolution > Re???
The rest of the time lines are all separated but might share multiverse
- MOTU live action film
- He-Man 2002
- She-Ra 2018
- He-Man 2021 (CGI)
Masterverse wishlist:
Catra 2018 (season 4)
He-Man 2002 (Snake Armor)
King Hissssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss 2002
She-Ra 2018 (season 5)
Skeletor 2002
I’ve been working on a huge ultimate timeline bringing together all the vintage canons using Classics as a basis. I haven’t decided on whether to include Revelation and Revolution yet. I think some elements could work but I’m waiting to see how the new series goes down
ohhhh i love stuff like this 🥰 motu timelines. thank you for doing this grayskull's wrath! best of luck, i can only imagine how much work compiling a timeline would take for you with the continuity continuously expanding as we are in the middle of the FOD comic series and yet to witness revolution.
(do any of y'all remember mv creations' 200x 5-part encyclopedia......the one cancelled after just the first issue? 😅) that was a lore bible gathering everything from the 200x cartoon along with every event from the 200x minicomics and main comic book into one BIG timeline. such a pity it was never finished but interestingly, the first issue that came out does confirm the events of the TDK Interactive GBA game to have occurred in the 200x show's universe.....fancy that. lol
also, just the other night i was thinking about what to call the current show's timeline. i used to think of it as "the revelations-verse" but with revolution now on the horizon, i don't think i want to start referring to it as "the revelations/revolutions-verse" (too wordy lol)
so i was thinking we could call it "the powerhouse canon/continuity/universe etc", like how we already refer to the classic era "the filmation continuity" and many folks HAVE referred to 200x as "the mike young/myp continuity" before.
@catra i love you for validating new adventures by canonizing it as part of the first prime timeline 😊 ❤️
could we count comic book series as separate timelines/part of the multiverse too? like we're doing with the other cartoons?
like the series published between 2012 and 2020 from DC comics, itself canonically a part of DC's Earth 0 timeline (current main timeline post 'New 52')
so a variant of eternia as well as etheria exists WITHIN the actually DC universe, DC has it's own versions of he-man and she-ra. kind of like how marvel's conan the barbarian comics all took place within the main marvel universe.
(i mean...we're unlikely to see THOSE versions of he-man and she-ra again anytime soon but the fact they exist in DC is just wild to me!)
also those comics are BOMB af, especially if you are a fan of the 200x series. ❤️
