The art here looks more on par with what we'd been getting in the past waves vs. the two other recent ones that were, I guess, essentially Mattel Creations exclusives (the Eternia and Rokkon comics). Do we know if there are different teams handling Cartoon Collection, whatever Mattel releases down the road for Origins on Mattel Creations, and the Turtles Of Grayskull comics?
I really dig the art on the Cartoon Collection mini comics and the art on the Rokkon/Eternia/VeeFriends comics.
- It's really strange that they have a staff that could blow up the whole planet if the one holding it is too much of and @$$ hole
It makes sense that the Cartoon Collection and the Super7 Retro Collection Stratos figures come with the power Staff of Avion because they both specifically reference that Filmation episode.
But the Loyal Subject figure comes with it too. So kids banging figures together, and this one could flood or blow up the world.
Sy-Klone's mini comic is called "The Fog of War" of anyone that wants to know.
You can read a preview as well.
And get ready to buy him in just a few days!

If you've seen the Mattel Creations listing for the Origins Sy-Klone, you've seen that Lord Gr'Asp is on the cover of the included mini comic, The Fog of War. But I just looked at the image of the carded Lord Gr'Asp, and while the upper corners of both comics are green, Fog of War has Kirby Dots, and the Lord Gr'Asp/Terroar comic has shooting green lines. Plus the spikes evident on that cover, in no way match up with Gr'Asp on the cover of The Fog of War.
They are different comics. YAY!

@rogerblake nice investigate work. I figured they'd be different. I'm thinking the Walmart figures will come in sets of two with a new mini comic for each set. The real question is who is the sixth Snakeman?
- Terroar
- Lord Gr'Asp
- Necrocoda
- Reptilax
- Vypor
- ???
But there's Strobo and Plasmar that could be a part of Walmart's lineup still leaving one more slot...

I updated the Snake Men page on Wiki Grayskull, making some very basic pages for several Snake Men characters that didn't have pages. I don't know if the designs are left over from Classics, or new for Origins, but there's 4 snake men who could fill that slot. Strettch Nek, Quick Flick, High Priest Pythonus and Golden Rod. I found the design sketches on Toy Habits news stories.

@rogerblake they were concepts for MOTUC, I think. I think Golden Rod is the most likely to fill a spot in the lineup as he's made of mostly reused or reusable parts.

I would love for all these new minicomics to be collected together into a book from Dark Horse like the classic minicomics were. 😀

I would love for all these new minicomics to be collected together into a book from Dark Horse like the classic minicomics were. 😀
For that to happen, they need to end, but still be popular enough for Dark Horse to make money.
I'd love Dark Horse to publish book collections of the London Editions comics, a book of the Golden/Kid Stuff book, a book of the Ladybird books and World International Annuals, and maybe a book of the Telepictures Publications He-Man and She-Ra Magazines.
I'd really like it if I could buy these mini comics on Comixology/Kindle.
@rogerblake I love all those ideas but I bet it's a legal nightmare of copyright ownership and publication rights.

Here's a review of the new Origins figure of Extendar that includes a look at the new mini comic, Terror of the Technomancer!
I don't know when/where this figure will be available. I'm currently working on the Wiki Grayskull page for the comic.
He said a rumor that Modulok is going to be an exclusive. Haha
@brasco all of the remaining vintage figures are going to be MC exclusive...

@smitty-81 no not MC, he was leaning towards SDCC. Any vintage should not be exclusive to anywhere other than MC. Repaints or deep cut characters I’d be fine with
@brasco I'm not sure how "he" would know.

@smitty-81 again just a rumor but you know how people get when they hear that kind of stuff
The Extendar comic cover is another relief! I wonder if the Rokkon and King Grayskull ones were just a weird fluke... like deadlines were coming up fast and they just rushed those out.
@zodac they almost look AI drawn but with someone coming in to fix the hands. The Art "style" works for VeeFriends but not for Rokkon.
Really I think we're all spoiled with how damn good the ToG art is.

I had forgotten about that discussion point. Good to have it confirmed.
Judging by the package image, Reptilax appears to have the same mini comic as Terroar and Lord Gr'Asp, so if those figures never appear, we'll at least still be able to see the mini comic.
