Written by Fresh off the news that actor Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson has joined the cast as the fan favorite Heroic Warrior Fisto in the new “Masters of the Universe” film, the Iceland native actor was on the red carpet today at the “Captain America: Brave New World” Premiere when he was interviewed about his involvement in the new He-Man movie.
Sometimes awkwardly interviewed by a reporter from the long running Hollywood publication Variety, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson discussed the physique of Nicholas Galitzine, the character of Fisto, and more. Check it out:
INTERVIEWER: Now I gotta talk to you about Nicholas. He-Man Nicholas.
JÓHANNES HAUKUR JÓHANNESSON: Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
INTERVIEWER: He’s showing his new physique a little bit. He teased it at the holidays, and then just today, he was at, like, a fragrance launch, and he posted a photo.
JÓHANNES HAUKUR JÓHANNESSON: He’s looking big, isn’t he? I I was with him in London, last week.
INTERVIEWER: Oh, yeah?
JÓHANNES HAUKUR JÓHANNESSON: Yeah. Yeah. Because we’re doing fittings, and filming is about to start. And, I mean, he is looking like a beast. He is not showing you everything. And, I mean
INTERVIEWER: He showed you everything?
JÓHANNES HAUKUR JÓHANNESSON: Well, we were in the gym. We didn’t wear much. It was kind of hot in there. And, but, you know, we had a…
INTERVIEWER: He-Man!!!!!
JÓHANNES HAUKUR JÓHANNESSON: Yeah. I mean, he, he looks good.
INTERVIEWER: Tell me about Fisto!
JÓHANNES HAUKUR JÓHANNESSON: I love the name!
INTERVIEWER: I can’t say the name seriously. You’re gonna have a whole new set of fans. You know that?
JÓHANNES HAUKUR JÓHANNESSON: I’m hoping for, you know, one of these you know, the Hulk fists they have? They have to make a Fisto fist. I mean, come on. It’s gonna be a metal fist much like the Hulk fist.
INTERVIEWER: What does Fisto do with his fist?
JÓHANNES HAUKUR JÓHANNESSON: I mean, he fists people, like, like, hitting them.
INTERVIEWER: He’s a he’s gonna say that with a with a serious…
JÓHANNES HAUKUR JÓHANNESSON: You know, I do I do a hook. I do a backhand.
INTERVIEWER: All for fisting.
JÓHANNES HAUKUR JÓHANNESSON: Yeah.
INTERVIEWER: You’re a fisting expert.
JÓHANNES HAUKUR JÓHANNESSON: Yeah. You know, and I’m wearing my, loin cloth, and it’s
INTERVIEWER: Is that what you have to wear? Just a loin cloth?
JÓHANNES HAUKUR JÓHANNESSON: No. I mean, the toy is wearing a loin cloth. We might have different costumes in the movie, but, you know, that’s sort of the that’s where we’re coming from.
So will we get a Fisto Hand next Summer in the vein of the excellent Hulk hands thar have graced toy shelves over the past few decades? We hope so!
Filming for “Masters of the Universe” is either currently underway or will be starting very soon, with the movie itself scheduled to be released in cinemas worldwide on June 5th, 2026.
