FIVE THINGS We Noticed in the New Poster for ”Masters of the Universe: Revolution”

The amazing, assumingly final poster for the Netflix animated series “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” dropped today and it was simply glorious.

Illustrated by the magnificently talented Nate Baertsch, we can’t seem to take our eyes off this poster since its release so we figured… why not discuss it!

Now while the poster features aspects we have seen released already via promotional material like Hordak’s physical appearance and Duncan’s new Man-O-War armor, we still came across five new exciting things that immediately captured our attention while looking at this amazing new poster for “Masters of the Universe: Revolution”.

Here they are:

#1. TEELA’S NEW FORM:

Is that Teela? We won’t label this Teela with new names like “The Green Goddess” yet simply because we are not certain what is exactly occurring to Teela in this new “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” poster and continuity, but whatever occurred, green Teela in her Snake Armor outfit looks absolutely stunning here in this new “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” poster.

Actually a hint behind Teela’s new transformation can be found in the series official synopsis. Yes, captioning this portion (of a synopsis we reported on back in September) feels very apropos here:

"--Meanwhile, the new Sorceress Teela searches for the secret of Snake Magic in the mists of Darksmoke to rebuild a magic realm and help He-Man hold off the greatest threat Eternia has ever faced: the return of the despot Hordak, the ruthless leader of the Horde Empire!”

#2. HORDE CASTLE GRAYSKULL

In the teaser trailer we witnessed a curious scene where Motherboard was growing a pair of gigantic techno wings above an ominous giant skull with terrifying eyes.

Now after seeing this poster, could this Motherboard scene be depicting Castle Grayskull’s transformation as the Holy Sprocket changes Castle Grayskull into a villainous strongold for the Evil Horde (with the results looking like what we see in the poster?)

We shall see!

#3. SKELETEK’S RED EYE

In the “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” clips and teaser trailer shown thus far, the Motherboard infected Skeletor known as Skeletek has always had a green cybernetic lens for a right eye.

Well now, in this new “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” poster, Skeletek is sporting a red colored lens.

This seems to be the first glimpse into what Executive Producer Ted Biaselli teased on the For Eternia Podcast (found HERE) in regards to Skeletek having the ability to change his eye color. What story points lie behind this lens color change from green to red? We will have to wait and see to find out.

#4. LYN STANDS WITH THE HEROIC WARRIORS

Anyone doubting Evil-Lyn’s turn towards good at the end of “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” may think twice after seeing this poster.

Sporting a similar outfit in this poster to the what we saw the “Liberated” Lyn wear at the end of “Masters of the Universe: Revelation”, the once right hand of Skeletor now appears to be standing alongside He-Man and the Heroic Warriors, as they prepare to beat back Hordak and his Evil Horde.

5. GRANAMYR IS WEARING HIS ICONIC HELMET

When we first saw Granamyr in the “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” teaser trailer, the lord of the dragons looked absolutely stunning.

Recreating the red skin aesthetic originated from the 1983 classic Filmation series “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe”, the one thing notably absent from the Revolution version of this old and wise dragon was his iconic horned helmet.

Well now thanks to the “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” official poster, we now know that Granamyr will indeed don his legendary horned helmet once again. Yes!

So those were the FIVE THINGS we noticed in the New Poster for ”Masters of the Universe: Revolution.”

The final trailer comes out tomorrow… and remember that “Masters of the Universe: Revolution” will be premiere on Netflix this January 25th. We’ll see you next time!
