Got shipping notice for reg. Skeletor
how much $ did you save buying the regular version. Was it a lot?
@he-dad No, the Skeletor head was first one. But I’ve done a ton of other stuff. The biggest of which was a total repaint of McFarlane’s Gold Label Batwing. It was featured on ToyArk about 8 months back. I painted it for one of the site owners. Before that I painted the McFarlane Flash/89 Batmobile. Recently, I did some paint mods to my Classified HISS. Minor stuff really. I do a lot of figure repaints and paint mods. I’m seriously kicking around totally repainting New Eternia Trap Jaw. That figure is amazing. So it would be really fun.
I remember seeing something about that Batmobile bro. People had to fix them and then McFarlane said here everybody we are selling a fixed one. 😂
🇺🇸 SNOUT SPOUT FOR PRESIDENT 🇺🇸
Got my 2 regular boneheads yesterday.
I love how, Panthor, Adam, Deluxe Skeletor shipped from China and boxes mint.
These 2 Skeketors shipped from Texas looks like they’ve been in a war. Holes in shipping box, a few made through to inner box. One has a rip. Filthy. I’ll take the trade off of slow overseas shipping, than this crap.
@banthafett OOF! Sorry to hear that. My Skeletor that shipped from China came with a big ole hole punched in the shipper. Lucked out and didn't get the actual product box dinged. Those shipper boxes are some pretty weak corrugated cardboard. Very easy to puncture.
@depp76 I was thinking 140 MAX. Prices have gotten crazy as a whole. It sucks but, it is what it is. With that in mind 260 for Deluxe Skeletor was acceptable imo. I'm beyond happy with that figure. I think it's the greatest Skeletor figure ever created. TONS of useful accessories. Then there's Orko. He's BARELY a 6" figure which isn't even fully articulated (legs only articulate at the hips. No idea about the POA of the arms), 6 sets of hands and a couple of mini-figures and a few other small accoutrements. They are drinking absurdity and pissing ridiculousness.

You're living in a dream world if you thought it would only be $140. I was personally thinking it would be in the price range of $185-$200. I wasn't necessarily shocked that it was $235, but I wasn't particularly happy about it. Still picking him up regardless since I don't think Orko will ever look any better than this (just like all the other Mondo renditions). I'm digging how his second head is similar to the Revelation/Sideshow statue design as well.
I've personally tapered down all of my collecting to be exclusively Mondo MOTU and Tweeterhead MOTU. I'd rather pay more to get super high quality stuff than pay less and get the terrible paintjobs from the Masterverse line. I can definitely see why the price of these items is a turn-off though, especially if you're getting other MOTU product or collecting other lines.
@smokinya When you compare this release to the recent Deluxe He-Man and Skeletor (and I mean actually COMPARE what's included. Plus total deco. Deluxe Skelly was only 25 bucks more) 140 makes sense. That was before I saw the extras included to pad the cost. And even then it's way steep. They have obviously established a pricing structure and to hit it they padded the release.
I have Deluxe He-Man, Skeletor and both cats. I'm good with what I paid for all 4 of those. Totally worth it to me. I'm not giving them $235 for this. Because it's absurd. I pick and choose across the board with MOTU. If you're cool paying $235 for a minimally articulated 6" inch figures and extras to pad the cost, bully for you. You are the target audience for this release. I am not.

I don't disagree with you per se. I definitely think Orko is overpriced by a decent margin (not like I would ever want the cartoonish mini-figs he's coming with, would rather some other new accessories). He definitely comes with the least amount of "value" when compared to the other figures in the line. I'm just saying that $140 never would've happened, even if that would be more in-line with what he should cost.
I can see why people would be passing on Orko. If I wasn't in the position I'm in right now I would likely be as well. I'm curious how much the Retro Soft Vinyl Scareglow is going to cost.

that cost is crazy. If you can do that motherboard for $65 with those badass wings and cloth than $235 for that Orko is robbery.

@skeledog Exactly. And it ain't like Motherboard is going get much reuse from the mold. I would love to see final sales numbers for Orko and how orders performed in various markets.
Seems Mondo has listened and they are now including a spell book as well with the Orko figure.
@he-metayer Agreed. Adding a spell book doesn't change my opinion on the price lol.

Wut? I wasnt buying any Orkos but now I am buying 3 of them

@he-metayer I'd love Mondo to do a Supplemental offering that would augment the Deluxe (or Normal) figures. Maybe include a Keldor head, Terror Claws Brarmor, Flying fists armor/weapon, an "I have the power" sword (like included with Adam) What else?
@Skeledog RIGHT!?!? That changes EVERYTHING.
@firmpulse That's true, all I really need is a Keldor head. Now that Keldor is in Revolution, maybe they can do a Revolution version of him?
When I opened my Mondo Skeletor the cloth hood “tip” (that’s stitched down and to the back) was stitched SUPER crooked. It also seemed to interfere with some of the posing of the hood. So it snipped the stitch. I was pushing the interior out to try and get more volume at the base. I noticed something felt off. So I turned it inside out. The stitching was totally torn at the seam. Straight from the factory! (See Pic1)
I repaired the seam and wrote Mondo. They were cool and sent me a fresh hood. I turned it inside out to make sure everything looked good…Lo and behold the replacement was torn too! (See Pic2).
I got curious and asked my buddy to look at his. He turned his inside…and his was torn as well. (See Pic3)
I suspect that every single cloth hood included with Deluxe Skeletor is torn. Y’all check. Turn your hoods inside out and push out the seam until you can see the stitching. I told Mondo about all this. They asked me one question,”So do you need another hood or do you want to return the figure for a refund?”. Brilliant guys. Brilliant.
I was waiting to see how all of this shook out before I posted about it.
NOW SHIPPING: Mondo's Masters of the Universe 1:6 Scale BEAST MAN is reportedly beginning to show up on collectors' doorsteps.
