I am not a betting man, but this guy is willing to put some mucho money on this dying like it did at Sony. I mean do we have any updates since the first news last spring? Casting news? Anything?

Everything I heard is not good buddy. Remember it was supposed to start filming last Summer 2022? But in March 2022 I started getting word of problems so I tweeted Mattel about it, to no avail.
Here's the tweet:

@admin Damn bro you knew before Mattel did.😆

Maybe! 😄

They could always make it... Risk it flopping and then in 40 years it becomes something people enjoy.
Maybe like aging wine?
I'm pretty sure anything they could do these days would be better then the 80's movie, IN MY OPINION mind you so don't try and convice me how well that movie did. I remember as a kid being so excited about it and then watching it and thinking,
"What the hell is this? This isn't He-Man!"
Don't even think I go half way into it before going back and watching the cartoon.
Tried to watch it recently and still can't get through it.
I wouldn't object to the movie though as even if something bombs so bad it can often still keep things alive enough to release new collectables.
Most of the October interviews indicated shooting had been pushed to April 2023 and locations changed to Canada for the cost savings.

We'll see! My source told me production offices were closed and they sold off the assets, but I would love that to be wrong.

Hope against hope scenario. Maybe we will get lucky.
If it's done at Netflix, hopefully someone else picks it up.

Another Motu movie and another Spawn movie.

How reliable has your "Source" been in the past with any information? IMDB has the movie set to post production on its current status. Like unless he or she has some definitive proof that filming is not happening. I would suggest taking the info and not take it to seriously. Like even when my friend was working on the set of Y: The last man. I demanded pictures and solid information before I was gonna believe anything.
@wundar AJ was the person keeping us all informed in the He-Man.org movie thread. He broke the bad news that Netflix sent the crew home packing and filming wasn't going to happen in the summer like Mattel announced.

Considering how many Marvel movies that are suppose to come out this year alone. Also they still hadn't finished casting alot of the roles yet. So I could imagine that would cause a lot of setbacks as well.

Hi Wundar! I like your avatar.🙂
Yes I have a friend in the industry who was actually started working on the Motu film (a dream come true) and they closed down pre-production offices and termed the employees. The word was big money got nervous with the script quality.
So, originally production was supposed to start the Summer of 2022 per the official press release:
"Mattel, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAT) and Netflix announced today they are developing Masters of the Universe, Mattel’s iconic franchise from the 1980s, into a live-action motion picture which is expected to begin production in summer 2022. "
Now four months ago, He-Man actor Kyle Allen was saying filming should start in April 2023 because they have to get the story right. He said it's a matter of waiting and getting the story in perfect order. So no it's not in post-production unfortunately. They haven't even started filming.
I wouldn't rely too much on IMDB for information. That is updated by users like us, and if the info there was always reliable, we would have had a half dozen Motu movies already. Sorry for the bummer news.

@admin Thank you for responding. The Tim Kane version is my favorite of Wun-dar. I remember seeing a list of all the movies that were set to release this year. If they did the filming last year right after the Nee brothers finished releasing "The Lost City". They would have had ALOT of competition this year for the release. I think it is best that they do the filming this year and set for release of next year. Plus Mattel is already releasing the Barbie movie this year. So I am sure they don't want two of their properties competing.

It's hard for fans to feel optimistic after hearing so many Motu movie announcements that have produced absolutely no films but I do appreciate your positive attitude very much! 🙂 We can only hope this time it happens! 🤞

@admin lmao I know exactly what you mean. anytime a new rumor about a new MotU movie came up my twin brother an I were like "Yeah okay, lets see how far this gets.". But since Rob David has been in charge of all media for MotU, we both have noticed a huge up tick in getting MotU back in the public eye. More has been done now with this iteration of production than any other. Plus I re watched the Lost City again. I think having the Nee Brothers at the helm will give this movie the right direction it needs.
Now one COULD see this as a negative. But I see this as a positive. I think they are setting up a big reveal of the cast sort of similar to Marvel or DC movies. But I am also pretty sure they are wanting him to stay silent because they dont want people to show up at the filming so people are speculating the plot like 90% of the Marvel Movies.
