Is the new Masterverse line going to have any playsets made or are they just forcing you to pay the high prices for the Classics version? I ended up buying a Strider at Walmart for like $8. The figures seem to be okay in it, but you can see that the figures were not made for the Origion line. If I need... I'll get a Night Stalker and just repaint it as long as the price I pay for Night Stalker doesn't go above $60. Have started my version of Castle Grayskull but it's taking a long time to get parts printed as I have to do them broken up as my printers are more meant for small print stuff.

Not sure if there is still a high demand for Classic stuff. I do havve a couple figures from the Classic line that I'll probably get rid of as I'm just not crazy about the body they used for those figures. I know they have bulkier shoulders more looking like what our beloved 80's toys did, but if they kept the bodies like that probably wouldn't be here. It's these new Masterverse figures I love. Bodies may seem "Too Wimpy" as the the creators origionally wanted to avoid making... But I just like this new body as it feels a little more realistic. My only gripe about the new figures is that on some they just extended the legs a little to give them more height :p

I was thinking about this today as I was talking to a buddy of mine about the Origins Snake Mountain.

There's no way I could get anything that big due to display space, but I would love to see a Masterverse Castle Grayskull... especially, like you said, for all those folks that didn't get into MOTUC.

@griff One thing that I am hoping will repeat itself is how the market has been dealing with remakes and resell value. Take the Kenner Indiana Jones figure from the 80's. Easily still in the item was worth around $200. It't now under $100!

Then they release the same figure by hasbro, same packaging... Just looks like they took the mold and dusted it off and started making the figure again (Which by my advice if you can afford it, it's around $20 with shipping and I'm sure in a year or two will easily be double that. Indiana Jones stuff always is a good bet if your dealing with collectables on the buying and selling side. Now, lets say they use the same mould they used for the Classic version of "Castle Grayskull", which I strongly feel they should. I know that castle was more of a fan push to make, but maybe if they made some very small alterations would smooth over a little with those who already forked out the big bucks for that playset. And yeah... Takes up a ton of space but if your a HUGE fan of Masters of the Universe and love the 7" style figure, classic or Masterverse... If the price is reasonable I can see it selling really well. But what does that mean for those who already bought and own the Classic version? I can see it not being initially a well accepted move to offer the same castle but later on the griped will be hushed out. Plus... I don't think Mattel can use that mould without permisision from... Was it Super 7 who did the 7" scale Grayskull?

Either way, I missed out and I honestly don't see myself wanting to buy a $500 playset. I'll seriously just print my own and make a better one :p

What I hope is that they don't just push the playsets under the rug because they were already done for the classics line. We really need a Wind Raider, Stridor and Battle Ram. THEY NEED TO make those. But I can see that going both ways and the Classic line of collectors winning as the nw Masterverse suffering from a lack of playsets.

Anyone have any Mattel inside spies to get a feel if they are even mind geared toward making vehicles or any other goodies to go along with the Masterverse.

Just would be a waste if they didn't!

@griff If my kids were young enough to play with an Origins Snake Mountain I would buy one. It's just not display worthy as an adult solely for me though. It's the same reason why I am not interested in the cg toys.

Masterverse playsets I would buy in a heartbeat but I'm not to sure about the vehicles. It would be on a case by case basis for me.

I get what you are all saying. I didn't look too in deep with the Snake Mountain. At first I thought it was just for Origon figures or the 5.5 figures and since I'm strictly on Masterverse, with maybe a couple Classic figures here and there I just... Snake Mountain is like arund $3000 so I for sure missed out on that one. Even as a collector I don't see that being a good investment. Too big, would take up too much room to display and while I'd love to get some photo's of it with my Masterverse figures, it's just not happening.

I'm not sure how much these playsets even start out at. I bought a Razor Crest from Hasbro Plus a while ago but I think even that was maybe $150, I could be wrong but it hasn't valued much and since it blew up in the Mandalorian, (Sorry Spoiler) I don't see anyone excited to buy that one anytime soon. Which is a shame as it would be nice to trade something like that in for a decent 7" scale fiigure. Is 1:12 the scale they are using? I thought maybe the 7" line was like 1:16 but I'm probably wrong. You'll soon see I know so much more about the 1:18 scale "Toys" or collectables that are out there. What was the initial cost for Snake Mountain? I can't see them lowering the price there. If annything they will sell it for more as it seems Castle Grayskull sits on everyones mind more then it does to a Snake Mountain. Who wants a run down, pluming issue, rat infested, and other critter infestation, and SNAKES? I hate snakes.

UPDATE: Just saw that Snake Mountain was selling for $800 initially so to go from $800 to $3000 is pretty big. I would think that a castle Grayskull would be more then that, unless the one from the Classic's line keeps in lower. Even still... I smell a $1000 playset there. Seems to me that the price is what seperates it from a "PLAY" in "SET". So... It will be a collectable and there will be a few boys and girls who are sad to not get to enjoy the playset with their 7" figures. Unless I guess they are from a family who can just drop down any amount number for their kids to enjoy, but I'm not that parent 🙁 Hell... If I could have it my way, I'd do something like turn my entire house into a MOTU area for anyone to come and bring their favorit figure too. Or if I could even do that, sheesh I'd make sure at least I'd grant a kid a choice of an action figure to keep. My first action figure was given to me by a kid who lived down my street. To this day, he is my oldest existing action figure I have.
