I had another bunch of tests on Wednesday and they said the infection was receding somewhat, and then they suggested surgery to fix some other problem (which made my heart nearly stop) but they said that would be a last resort and that my leg braces and antibiotics would suffice for now. All day at the hospital made me so exhausted that I slept all day Thursday.

I think my feet are healing, slowly, but there has been some progress. I have a few more follow-up appointments to keep things progressing so hopefully I'll be almost healed by late Autumn/early Winter. Being home instead of hospital has done wonders for my mental health, and hopefully that will help me physically too. 😀 

I just got back from a day at the hospital (which has left me exhausted as always).

I have some good news though.

My left foot has completely healed.

My right foot is still a hideous mess, but I had some of the stitches taken out. They did some more grafts, internal antibacterial inserts and vacuum sealed the wounds. Apparently there is still some residual infection and complications, but it's better than it was. They also removed my IV apparatus and I will be on oral antibiotics for the next few months. I will still be unable to walk and will be bedbound and in the wheelchair for at least a month or two, but it looks like future surgeries may not be required...hopefully.

I don't even have to go to hospital for check-ups as regularly (once every couple of weeks) and my Hospital At Home visits will also be lessened from everyday to every second day.

I'm still stuck with fibromyalgia and arthritis and always will be, but hopefully the other illnesses will be a thing of the past.

Along with catching up with my CD's, DVD's and books, I plan to get back into my editing and fantasy writing and hopefully make up for the last few years.

I don't know what I would do without all those who have been kind to me. I've been in medical hell for years and the only light at the end of a very bleak tunnel was your combined kindness, well wishes, prayers and love. That's what kept me going. I am forever in your debt.

Mikey, I'm truly happy to hear this positive news!  I know you still have recovery to get through, but the fact that your left foot has healed is so great to hear!  You keep fighting--your toughness inspires me and I'm sure many others!

In the meantime, catch up, rest up, heal up, and we'll keep sending all the good vibes, prayers, thoughts, etc. your way.

I just wanted to say I might not be on social media as much starting tomorrow, now that I am settled at home and my recuperation is starting to get easier, I really want to catch up with watching my movies/TV shows, listening to music and reading, I have so many CD's, DVD, and books to catch up with. I also plan to try and get back into my writing. Hopefully, the vicious cycle of hospitals and surgeries will lessen and I can pick up the pieces of my life and start living it again. I thank all my friends for your kindness and well wishes. Thank you for not minding my coming to you for advice and letting me share my story without getting sick of me, and if you ever need me, I will be there to help you when I am actually online. ❤️

The nurse who came today said my foot doesn't look like it's infected and the protrusion is most likely due to friction from the boot (although I do wear special socks and I'm getting my other orthotic shoe soon - I can't believe they only gave me one - seriously??). How can I get better when nobody can agree on what's wrong. I'm done with all this medical stuff, enough is enough, I'm concentrating on my writing and my CD, DVD and book collections as well as helping my sister, the kittens and my Instagram family.❤️Thankyou for putting up with me thus far. ❤️

This all does not sound too good (except for the later part where it reads like its going better 🙂 ). For the lack of better words: Best of luck and health so that you may laugh it off in the future when thinking back at this time.

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement, I'm hoping the upward trend continues for me! I have another check-up on Friday, but if they thought there was any underlying infection they would have shoved me back to hospital surely by now.
