@ravewayneboo I remember she was both a figure and in the comics. This is very exciting. If Mattel secretly added She-Ra to Masters of the Universe Revolution it might break the internet.

Yea I only remember her from comics and classics figure also. I hope she's in as Adam's sister, by whatever name they can call her.

I'm wondering if Revolution will end with Hordak's defeat and Dispara showing up and vowing revenge for the death of her "father".

@smitty-81 I'm thinking she will show at the end also, but I really like the spin you put on it.

I suspect that Despara will not play a role in the season, but will appear at the end as a stinger, possibly with an Adora face reveal. They have been actively trying to negotiate She-Ra since the beginning, so they may have something arranged in time for a third season.

@adam_prince-of-eternia yes thanks for explaining it better than I could. I think right at the very end she will show up I guess I should have said.

on another note, yes fingers crossed that despara is adora ! <3
i know that aj's had tim seeley on the podcast a couple times and if i remember correctly, in the masterverse comics episode, tim says that dark horse comics is allowed to use she-ra and the characters of PoP in the rev comics. so that means she-ra CAN possibly exist in the rev continuity, but she can only appear in comics.
similar to how scare-glow never appeared in the 200x cartoon series but he DID feature in the comics from MV Creations (which are 100% canon to the show) therefore scare-glow exists in the 200x continuity.

she-ra HAS appeared in motu print media over the years;
she-ra, catra, shadow weaver, the rebellion et al ALL played a prominent role in the classics mini-comics as well as in DC's motu comics (published between 2012 - 2020) and more recently, she-ra's also appeared in a few of the origins mini-comics. like in "dimensional doom" and "the trial of grizzlor" mini-comics. there was also the little golden book "i am she-ra!", which WAS published coincidedly with "i am he-man!" and "i am skeletor!" also published by golden books in 2019.

so, in print at least, including she-ra shouldn't be an issue.
but we'll have to wait and see. <3

It's so weird that they can use She-Ra in the comics and books but not the shows adora lovely. I am so lost with that legal mumbo jumbo. I wish I can tell Mattel to explain it to us clearly because yall making me crazy.

@ninadust not to worry hun, i can explain to you ♡

long story short, filmation claim to have created she-ra and the PoP characters, whilst mattel claim it was them. (though i think, on the whole, she-ra would never have happened at all without the input of BOTH companies) but as mattel recognized filmation to be the CO-CREATORS of PoP, mattel gave filmation the full film and television rights to PoP

filmation would eventually dissolve and their assets/libary would be acquired by hallmark, who later sold their filmation catalogue to classics media, which was bought by dreamworks in 2012. dreamworks was bought by universal in 2016, which means since 2016, universal studios has owned she-ra and PoP.

universal owns EVERY she-ra character except for the original horde members of hordak, grizzlor, mantenna, leech and modulok because THEY all originated in the motu toyline, NOT the PoP line

that's why hordak, grizzlor, mantenna and leech are in revolution, there is also a good chance that modulok will be appearing in revolution as well.

so it seems she-ra and the others can appear in revolution only if mattel and universal made some deal behind the scenes and that isn't out of the realm of possibility. disney and sony did this in order to get spider-man into the marvel cinematic universe but such a deal could only happen if it would benefit BOTH companies. like universal agree to rent out/loan she-ra to mattel, so that mattel can use her in revolution

but following the commercial and critical success of 2018's she-ra reboot, universal now see she-ra as being popular enough to stand on her own merits, independent of the motu franchise.

as a fan, it pains me but i can totally understand why universal would be so hesitant to give the PoP rights over to mattel, universal made a successful show that turned she-ra into a standalone star and they don't want to give she-ra to mattel JUST to have their popular character play second fiddle to a rival studio's popular character (he-man) i know that mattel care for she-ra and they wouldn't present her as inadequate compared to he-man but universal don't want to risk it. universal would want substantial creative say in a he-man/she-ra crossover and we all know what they say about too many cooks.

personally, i think the solution would be if just ONE company owned the film and tv rights to both motu and pop. that always works better anyway, to have just one driven, distinctive, creative voice, consistent quality throughout the whole franchise. when different studios own the rights, you end up with too much of a mixxed bag.

I am pleased as punch that it ended like this and not with a Snakemen tease for the next season, which I was worried about, since they were tapping into the whole Staff of Ka thing. I've enjoyed the Snakemen figures in Origins, but overall they've always been my least favorite faction story-wise, if that makes sense. Like, cool toys... but I don't want prolonged stories about them in any media. I've wanted the Horde (and She-Ra & co.) to take center stage for ages. Revolution took the tease that MYP gave us in 200X, teased it out some more (it wasn't enough, but a nice start!) , and so for a Season 3 I really want more Horde. Save the Snakemen for Season 4, maybe? (Though honestly I'd rather they tap into NA for 4 than the snakes).

This is not quite right, but it is close. Ultimately, NBCUniversal holds the entertainment rights to both Masters of the Universe and Princess of Power in all media. NBCUniversal licenses the properties separately in order to maximize their return. So it is not that Princess of Power is not available, rather that it is available for a price. Mattel and Netflix also want to maximize their return, so they are holding out on the additional licensing fee. But with the inclusion of Despara, and the flashbacks to events from Secret of the Sword, it appears Mattel and Netflix are ready to pull the trigger. But as Ted Biaselli has said on Facebook, if we want a third season, we need to rate Revolution with a double thumbs up, and watch and share it.
