Mattel doesn't seem to understand the difference between the words "EXCLUSIVE" and "LIMITED". I just sent a message to Mattel Creations about Rokkon selling out too damn fast & this is the reply I got:
Thanks for reaching out to us about the Masters of the Universe origins. Due to the LIMITED QUANTITY available and the high demand for the product, it sold out very quickly. I’m sorry for the disappointment this causes.
I understand how much this item meant to you, and I will share your feedback with our teams for review. Please rest assured that we'll have many more sales throughout the year, with several additional opportunities to expand your collection. I suggest adding your email to the bottom of creations.mattel.com to ensure that you get notified as new items become available or restocked!
Again, I apologize for the inconvenience, and I appreciate your understanding.
There is no "understanding" because I totally don't understand the game they are playing. Why are they still making extremely LIMITED quantities? Do they not understand that they are taking over for Walmart, Target, Bigbadtoystore and Entertainment Earth??? They need to make enough to make up for the loss of those 4 stores. Mattel Creations is the only place to get these now but they don't seem to understand that little fact. These things have been selling out in an hour the whole time yet they still refuse to raise their production numbers accordingly. It doesn't make any sense.
These things should be available for 2 FULL DAYS at the very least. I don't understand it at all. First of all, they advertise the product as "EXCLUSIVE" not "LIMITED EDITION". And second, don't they want to make money? Don't they know by now that they can sell a lot more of these things? If you know you can sell 100 you don't produce only 25. We're going into the 4th year of Origins & absolutely nothing has changed. They keep telling us they are working on the issues but they are lying their asses off. They are not doing a damned thing to change anything.
It really feels like they want to:
A. Piss off the fans.
B. Support the damn scalpers. Let the scalpers make all the money instead of them.
We are basically their bosses. We pay their salaries. Without us, they go out of business & lose their jobs. Yet we are constantly left in the dark & have absolutely no say in anything. We can't even contact the bastards without getting a generic, robotic BS response.
"I will share your feedback with our teams for review." I call BULLSHIT! You're not gonna do a damned thing & every single one of these releases are gonna sell out within an hour & NEVER BE RESTOCKED. Nothing is going to change or get better. After 4 years you kept everything exactly the same.
And the only way we can actually speak to somebody at Mattel is through Pixel Dan & he never asks the right questions. He's their buddy. He won't push them. They give him a BS generic response & he just accepts it. He won't call them on their BS like I would. Let me interview them over at Mattel & I'll tell them they are full of shit right to their face. I'll tell them that they are lying their asses off and I'm not buying any of their BS!
And what about people who have to work at 9am or 12 noon? They can't even put them up for sale at a decent time.
And if they could make Grizzlor MADE TO ORDER, then why can't they do that with every release? That's the way to go. And they have already shown that they can do that. So why won't they??? WTF?
If a figure doesn't last at least 24 hours then they made too few and left money on the table. I've felt that way since the Classics days. I missed out today because I could not revolve my work schedule around for a 2nd time in a short period due to their late change. They should really do preorders.
Mattel doesn't care about your feelings nor should they. You knew when to take a "poop break".
