Actor IDRIS ELBA set to play MAN-AT-ARMS in New ”Masters of the Universe” Movie!

Actor Idris Elba is set to play Man-at-Arms in the new upcoming “Masters of the Universe” Movie from Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films.

First reported to only be in “early talks” to play the part per the news source The Wrap, now Deadline has reported the exclusive news that Idris Elba will indeed play the Man-At-Arms role. Check it out:

EXCLUSIVE: Idris Elba is set to join Masters of the Universe, the Travis Knight-directed film for Amazon MGM. Sources said that Elba will play the role of Duncan, Man-At-Arms. The film is a coproduction between Escape Artists and Mattel.

Pic stars Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, and Camila Mendes as Teela. Scripted by Chris Butler, the film is produced by Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Robbie Brenner and Steve Tisch.

A worldwide superstar that has been in a multitude of movies from “Avengers: Infinity War“, “Prometheus” and “Star Trek Beyond“… to hit shows like “The Wire” and “Luther“, Idris Elba will certainly bring the acting chops, experience and gravitas necessary to fill the great Duncan’s shoes.

Filming for “Masters of the Universe” is reportedly slated to begin this January 2025 with the movie itself scheduled to be released in cinemas worldwide on June 5th, 2026.

  1. I’m stunned that they got such a big name for this role. This is excellent news for the potential success to the movie and franchise altogether. I’ve seen nothing but good performances from Idris Elba and so looking forward to seeing him armored up!!

  2. The Teela actress is from Brazilian parents, so she’ll have to be adopted like in Filmation.  I’d rather he play Dekker or Clamp Champ, or Melaktha, but not a huge deal.  He is a good actor.  I guess he is their “big name" besides whomever plays Skeletor.

I’m glad there’s e a veteran actor in this film to sell it to the casuals, he already has a following with the young ones by voicing Knuckles and you need that audience on board to sell your toys. My one concern is I hope Duncan won’t be played for laughs if he tags along, visits Earth, and has to adapt to the culture, as he already does enough of that with Knuckles
